I'm not disagreeing. I'm just saying that a player like Bissouma would cost £70-80 million minimum, and that's if you can find one that is willing to join us. So like any other team, if he gets injured, we'll have to go with an inferior player for a while. If the coach is good, he'll tweak the system to minimize the impact. The same for any player that gets injured. No team, not even City, has two star players at each position.

You are assuming the French journalists know what Tosin wants and doesn’t want.

Sure they are told that the player wants to go to Monaco, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to go to Spurs.

That’s the part that makes no sense. If you are Tosin, it’s in your interest to have more than 1 team in for you. You can get better terms on your contract and other benefits.

I can see why Monaco might want it that way. I can understand a journalist writing things Monaco fans want to hear for engagement.

I think it's about how much FFP wiggle room you want to create. If you buy for 10 and sell for 5, you spread the 10 over a 5-year contract, so 2/year, and bank the 5 right now, thus creating a +3 for the current year.

If you swap and pay an extra 5, you spread the 5 over a 5-year contract, but don't bank anything for the current year. So less wiggle room.

Whenever subject of Conte quotes or media noise it was always portrayed that was working well before he left on loan.... Kind curious scenario. Maybe there was more in Warnock's verdict on the lad than we gave credit? ......Maybe the arrival of Porro hit him in the guts? ........Maybe his attitude is ok and he's just not very coach-able?

His cameos were manic and completely shapeless. Hard to what to make of his loan. He was only ever injury cover for their captain and only got another 7mins when he returned; before getting injured himself.
