Postecoglou pays tribute to Lloris

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou remained tight-lipped on potential transfers before their trip to Burnley but did pay tribute to Hugo Lloris ahead of his anticipated departure on Friday.
When asked about the 36-year-old, Postecoglou said: "I have only been here a couple of months but Hugo has been excellent throughout the whole process.
"There is no doubt he has had an outstanding career and contribution to this football club. He has been the captain for quite a long time and been very professional, obviously working with (Rob) Burchy and the other goalkeepers.
"He has been helping the others, Vic (Guglielmo Vicario) being the new goalkeeper, so I have nothing negative to say about him and I wouldn't.
"There has been nothing other than him being very, very professional about everything."
I think they'll just cancel his contract TBH.

I thought Romano said Hojbjerg and Atletico agreed terms but it was now just about structure and potential future fees?

How can Hojbjerg reject?

Maybe Poch saw the academy was failing to pick up talent.
10 players for £100m is just deadwood quite frankly. The best players we've actually sold for money? Winks, Carrol? Mason, Townsend, Bentaleb? It's all so fucking average.

Chelsea get £30-£60m for their youth, who aren't all great but way better than those.

If that is the case, Poch failed to get better kids into the academy.

And with his own pet project bought Juan Foyth for £10m, failed to develop him properly so when he made his debut 2 years later gave away 2 pens , lasted another year or two playing a total of 14 games before being sold. So complete failure to develop a player

Meanwhile one of the players Poch sold for a song, Milos Veljkovic, played CB for Werder Bremen when Kane made his debut for Bayern. World Class ? No but good enough to have played 200 times for Werder Bremen and a regular for Serbia National Team ........ so probably could have been an HG squad player for us.

But with Poch attitude to developing youth a few good ones left early so they could develop elsewhere, Madueke is a classic example - Spurs u16 captain - who could have stayed rather than being a 35m or 40m acquisition for Chelsea
