How Dry should our Powder be?

Striker, wide forward and a number 6 should all be far, far higher on the list than another number 10. Especially a number 10 that is going to cost as much as Eze.
Striker I’m not worried about. Son + Richy was 29 goals when either started in the middle. Unless an outrageous offer comes in for Richarlison, so we can turn around and buy Gyrokes, I’m fine with them.

DM - I think the succession plan from Bissouma to Gray has already been made.

All of our attention should be on LW and also a LCB/LB hybrid

Not as much bentancur but he’s not a creative midfielder. He’s a tidy player who passes forward and gets about the pitch and I think he’s very good but I don’t see him cutting teams open anywhere near enough. Villa at home is the best I’d seen him before he got smashed but we don’t see that enough. Sarr is all energy but also not creative.
Your deluded about Bentancur, he is creative

Some interesting comments on Eze in this thread as I know some on here have touched on where he’d fit on our team as he’s not a winger or a central midfielder.

This guy is a fraud. I value his opinion the same as a random bloke down the pub.

I watched a couple of his "analysis" videos on YouTube last year and noticed in the comments from fans, of the clubs that the player or manager the videos were about, were always saying he was wrong about several things, so I watched a few of his videos on players (and Slot) that I had watched quite a bit already and quickly realised that he was basing his "analysis" from highlights videos.

I remember at the he start of his video on Arnie Slot, he started by saying he was an authority on the Eredivisie because he had done a 60 minute presentation on it a few weeks before, then on another video he did after that, he casually mentioned he had only seen 5 or 6 Eredivisie games the year before. So basically, he can blag being an "expert" based on assumptions from little information.

I came to 2 conclusions:
1) He isn't a football expert or analyst, he is just a content creator/engagement farmer.
2) If the YouTube career doesn't pan out, he has a potential career in middle management.

Ange said there were 3 long range targets.

Gallagher, has definitely been in Ange's long range plan. Ramsey might be the back up.
Neto, seems to be one that Ange has liked for a while. Maybe Chiesa is the back up.

Ange had no time to get a striker in with Kane leaving late, so I'm thinking a striker is the 3rd option. Really not sure who Ange likes in this role. Apparently he was yelling at Lankshear to play deeper in the trial, so maybe he is looking for a deeper playing striker.

Gallagher in Skipp out.
Neto in Solomon out.
Striker in Lo Celso out.

I recall the heady days when Paulinho and Soldado were considered genuinely huge signings.

History has rightly removed their statementness.
We did a great job of ruining their careers 🤣🤣 The spurs curse.

In all seriousness they both looked like great buys at the time. Paulinho had just had a fantastic Copa America for Brazil and was one of the players of the tournament. I was genuinely excited when we got him. Thought he’d add some real backbone and toughness to the side. Instead he ran around like a little 5 year old sook looking for his mummy. Lazy as fuck too, which wasn’t the case when playing in and for Brazil. Go figure

Probably bollocks but I don’t think we’ll be able to resist at that price.

Fuck me, talk about underwhelming. If I put together a list of strikers he’d be 2nd bottom just ahead of Giminez. If he comes to Spurs I’ll fully support him and will love it if he proves me wrong, but the guys a level or two below epl standard. Sheesh Toney looks like Harland in comparison to David and Im ambivalent about him at best.
Still Dan likes a bargain, never mind the quality feel the width.
only positive, is It leaves a fair amount of cash for other targets. Maybe Ange is prioritising other positions.
and can people stop talking about Isak, Newcastle have said he’s not for sale.

Neto has waaaay to much injury history and too much of a price tag. If he was a guarantee to play 30-35 games per season sure, but not worth the risk

Is three enough?

We are going to play more football next season. I don't want a CB at the expense of better quality attacking/creative/wide attacking players but Todibo's apparently available on a loan/buy.
We have four with Davies plus we have Dorrington and Phillips if they don't go out on loan.

Even though it's a loan, it's with an obligation, not an option, totalling 37.5m plus a potential extra 3m in add-ons.

The financials aren't even the main issue. We are struggling with squad space for Europa league registration as it is, so would have to sell Davies to bring another in, as he can't play LB anymore IMO, so another LB is the priority in defence.

€21m eleven months ago, now he's €80m. Oh I do like their business model
