Cheeky loan bid for sancho. Still think there's a very good player in there to be unlocked that could flourish in an attacking system like ours.

Of course not. But at the same time injuries for them could derail them.

An injury to Micky, Udogie or Vicario is a worry and the same issue as less year. But our biggest issues last season were the losses when so many KEY players were missing at the same time, and that terrible run of fixtures we had. We may lose the same corresponding games but they are at different points this time. May not have the same damaging effect in morale.

We don't know what's going to happen, especially after just two games. But we'd have to be really, really unfortunate to lose our entire defence for multiple games again.

It was just two points last year.

I think how we approach Sunday will tell me quite a lot in how the season will go. Not change and play the same way as we did there last season and it won’t fill me with much faith. Approach it differently and not get so easily out played by Howe tactically then I think it will mean there’s promising signs for the rest of the season.

Why not. he needs to play not sit on a championship bench.
He's 20 years old.

Everyone says "he needs to play" which is true but playing well in league 1 proves the square root of fuck all. All that will happen is that we will then (next season) look for a championship loan for him and he will be nearly 22 when he comes back from that. We will then deem him to be too old to be considered a youngster and sell him without giving him a chance.

He needs a championship loan now if he is to leave.

I strongly suspect the club wanted to sell Richy and he refused to go.

Should we have sidelined him and forced him out? maybe but the manager doesn't work that way and doesn't even sideline guys like Reguillon and GLC when everyone knows they are gone.

Either way, Richy's body can't be trusted anymore and he has to know that.

Im wondering how much of his fitness issues are in his mind rather than his actual body.

He's already had a Championship loan too after showing he's too good for League 1.

I'm hoping the Birmingham link was bullshit and Birmingam putting it out there to show they are trying yo get Davies the players he wants.

Really struggle to believe we would see the logic in sending him there. Send him to Holland or France on loan. Not fucking league 1.

You would have to imagine that the aim within the club is for this project to pop in 3-4 years? Otherwise there's no excuse for the window we've had. Squad is left so short and it's insane to think that 2 17 year old midfielders can be consistent difference makers. I think they're playing the long game here and are willing to take the hit on the next few seasons to build slowly, kind of like what Woolwich did from 2019-23.
