That sounds like that’s come from us. Ie. We will bid for him but only this month. They might all want it done by the euros but levy will want it to go on all month so we get the best deal. Villa are the fly in the ointment but I’m not sure how true their interest is. It all seems too convenient that it comes out yesterday they are bidding for him and now this article arrives.

It's pretty clear both clubs want to do a deal but now it's about managing the perception of who got the better end of the deal and why.

Alvarez is an upgrade on Sonny at CF?

Really not sure about that

Alverez was good the prior season but a bit average this one. When surrounded by Foden and the like that gives me red flags like Zinchenko and Jesus. Good player but very disposable by City. Then again if we ain’t getting absolute elites possibly an option but the price would be way to high for us.

I've always felt with Gallagher that the only way it happens is if he's holding up the shirt out of nowhere. If there's a protracted deal.. Or even if it's announced that he's on his way to us for a medical.. The noise from the Chelsea fans that they're selling their captain to the club they hate the most would be too much.. And this Chelsea board desperately need the fans back on side.

It's always been hard to imagine the deal as he and his family are apparently "proper Chels" and we never do business with them. I guess it is a new era with the yanks in there now and FFP.

Still, I imagine he'll be doing an Aaron Lennon at Everton when he's holding up the shirt if he does sign.

Personally I wouldn't sign a player like this on the back of club loyalties but maybe I'm just old fashioned.

Sorry mate but you should never use an international tournament to scout a player. The sample size is just too small.
Absolutely, but in conjunction with what he has done at City it should 100% be taken into consideration.

This isn’t a Moussa Sissoko situation where he was a bang average PL player for years and we signed him on the back of 1 decent internet tournament.
