Werner has cost us absolutely nothing.
It arguably cost us morale and the chance of someone better.
But, I take your point, he was cheap, but we converted a lot of that cheapness into salary.
I am talking about using a space for him which we could of used for a top quality winger, will be the same with edwards

How many club trained are we required to have?
We had him last season... And he's basically replaced Perisic, who was on more money than he was anyway.
Our targets haven't and won't change because we've managed to get Werner in was my point.
We need 8 homegrown players, of which 4 have to come from the club (club trained) to be allowed to field a full squad in the Europa League.
We can of course compete with a smaller squad if we cannot meet those numbers. But depth is always good to have when in Europe.
You need 4 of your 8 HG slots to be club trained,iirc.
It probably just means we wont register a full 25 man squad in Europe.
The likes of Phillips, Bergvall etc have a chance to become club trained though if they're with us for a full 3 years. So we are definitely preparing.

Sess has been very lucky indeed to be under contract, and have a large portion (well, almost all...) of that contract unexpired during his prolonged injury crisis. Remember that. He's actually a very lucky, wealthy young man. But he will not be a top drawer elite footballer.Well then - that's that re: Sess.
Feel very bad for the lad and his injuries, but we've done more than enough as a club to support him/have patience with him. I'm guessing if you did a poll on here, most would have wanted us to let him go rather than extend his contract.

I reckon we'll get 17 for him. He's a good defender. Just don't let him go over the half way line.
Fair. He won't have been the highest paid at the club, but based off his hype as a youngster you can bet his wage will have been very very good for a 19 year old signing.
His money earned to actual provided value to us will have an enormous disparity. HG spots shaping up to be a headache though, so I hope we don't compromise too much on who we sign to tick that particular box.
