Is Gallagher even that much of an upgrade on Sarr... to the point it's worth spending £50m?

No. Save the money for an elite CF and winger.
7 goals and 9 assists to Sarrs 3 goals and 3 assists , Gallagher incredible at pressing and comes across as more of a leader, plus a much needed homegrown player. So yes he is preferable to Sarr in just about every metric.

However if that £50m eats into the budget enough to cheap out on a top winger and centre forward then i agree with you. We should be able to get all 3 but we know how it goes. For what its worth i think he'll end up staying at Chelsea.

You need 4 of your 8 HG slots to be club trained, iirc.

It probably just means we wont register a full 25 man squad in Europe.

The likes of Phillips, Bergvall etc have a chance to become club trained though if they're with us for a full 3 years. So we are definitely preparing.
Phillips cant become club trained anymore, as he has been on loan so can no longer do 3 years at the club before he turns 21.

There's no loan fee. We're just paying his full wage.

Which again as stated. Is no different to last season, so we're no worse off and will have zero bearing on the business we do.

When you factor in Perisic was on more, he's cost us sweet fuck all.

Pretty sure Ali Gold said there was a loan fee of 3/4m or something like that in his podcast

Yes he is. He is probably the best #8 at pressing in the world (along side Ederson), makes good runs into the box, good finisher and good passer. He made 7 assists last season and almost twice as many key passes per 90 as any of our CMs bar Maddison and Lo Celso.

He improves in defense and attack as well as being a work horse that allows others more freedom.

Chelsea can say they want more than 50 for him. They're trying to find another sucker like they did last year in United for Mount.

I'd be shocked if they get anything closer to 50 considering Gallagher is in the last year of his deal and Chelsea currently have no interest in re-signing him

Then it will be the same shit we struggled with last season with wingers who slow the play down all the time. We cried out for a top winger last season
Edwards doesn't slow play down and can quickly dribble through a defence (I am concerned about his pressing though), so it does improve us slightly out wide, but there were a number of times we flashed dangerous crosses across goal but our striker wasn't in the box to finish them off, so getting the right striker in, as well as Gallagher, who is dangerous in and around the box and who's pressing will create opportunities, would improve our attack. Not ideal, but a start.

Edwards got dropped for trincao and I can him getting bullied by defenders here. Not good enough we are only after him because we are fucked for home grown talent

We'll move on Gil and Solomon surely
Even so, we still need to bring in a striker and a LB (or LCB, depending where we see Davies). We can have 21 players that aren't club trained (minimum of 4 of which have to be HG), so lets say:

New Striker
Richarlison
Son
Werner
Johnson
New RW
Maddison
Kulusevski
New #8 or #6
Sarr
Bentancur
Bissouma
Bergvall
Udogie
New LB
Davies
VdV
Romero
Dragusin
Porro
New RB
Vicario
Forster
Austin

That is 24 players with only 1 Club Trained, so we are 2 over. You could get round 1 with not registering Forster for Europe, but I doubt any of the other players would be happy with that. That means 1 of the new signing needs to be Club Trained and no-one from our academy is ready in those positions, so Edwards or KWP seem to be the best options and I think KWP is still too much of a massive liability defensively.

Edwards got an Illness in January that resulted in him being swapped out for Trincao. He tore us a new one in the CL and also played well v Woolwich (4 times) and City, so I doubt he would get bullied in the PL.
