Thing is, I feel like City sold to Woolwich previously with the hubris of not considering them a threat. Would you want to be City and sell Alvarez to them after this past season? I'm not so sure.

That's not why Sarr isn't club-trained, we signed Sarr after the start of his first season so he could only get 2 and a half of the 3 years he needed to be club-trained, regardless of whether he was loaned. Phillips is still registered for Spurs while he's loaned out and we signed him before the start of the season so he can still get 3 years.
In UEFA rules, you can only be registered to 1 club at a time. Therefore, if you are out on loan, you are not registered to the parent club for that period.
That's probably the most compelling argument i've seen for us not signing him ...

You can't play but you're still registered with the parent club whilst loaned out. That's been confirmed too by Ali Gold and Woolwich have Saliba registered as club-trained even though they signed him at 18 and loaned him out to France twice.
