Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

During the particular window, everyone was lauding Spence and Perisic as great signings. Especially Perisic, who would fit us like a glove, a winner who the manager wanted.

Signing a back up HG experienced goalkeeper on a free isn't a bargain basement signing.

Solomon was 100% an opportunistic, sign on a free, flip for millions type signing.

Strangely I have less expectation this summer than ever before. Just been far too ground down with it all.

Plenty of doubts about Spence at the time. The fact all that lot have been moved on or we'd like to move them on says it all. Just patching up the squad like we have with Werner. All they do is clutter up the squad and block pathways for our own youngsters. Buy first team level players or dont bother.

He wasn't a bargain bin basement signing though.

He was a promising young right back, who had a great Championship season that 95% of Spurs fans were excited about. So much so that the manager got slaughtered every single week for not playing him.

Totti overtaking Airfixx lately in his willingness to get stuck in to defending every criticism people have for the club. Incredible numbers being put up.
