Are you pleased with the Solanke signing? Don't think I've seen your opinion on it, genuinely.
I know you follow me around the forum like a man posessed, so I'm surprised you missed it

Fair post. What gives me more hope than anything about this signing though is his age and his profile, rather than the actual player himself.

Wether folk think he was worth the transfer fee or not, he was clearly not signed with future resale in mind, but rather for the immediate impact he has on the team.
Wether that impact is measurable only time will tell, but it's at at least refreshing that we spent some proper money on the here and now, rather than on the future.

Wouldn't rate it a 'Marquee Signing ' like a few others though.

Mate...

I've literally posted that he played around 50 games last season and you say he can't stay fit?

You're not harping on about the ligament damage he previously had are you? Take a look at him last season for Juve, it's evident that he's moved on from them, maybe you should too.

His wages are easy to manage. Give him a signing on fee and keep them in line or lower than our best earners.
Can’t believe we aren’t in for him yet- genuinely classy attacker. Feels like we are holding out for another speedy young winger rather than a classy older one though.

Chiesa would have been ludicrous in Contes system. In Ange’s I don’t know but it would still be good. Perhaps someone better is available though, I’ll reserve judgment until the end of the window.

He's been incredibly spotty since the 21/22 season. Any player that's had a big injury like that anyway, for the money involved. Hard pass.

Beyond that, I don't think he's worth the money and not really a huge upgrade on anyone we have.

Maybe I should move on too haha as if I'm seething with spiteful hate. I think he's a good player. Not one worth a gamble for the financial side of things or his past injury record. Evidently the view of a lot of clubs right now as his agent can't get a move for him and Motta has decided he'd be better off selling him than the distraction of him leaving all year.
But go off hun x

Nice thing about having the kids for depth is it’s easier to loan them out in winter window if we get knocked out of the cups early.

A boat load of posters right now...

But no we haven’t send them out on loan to get minutes. Yet every club in Europe and some here play 16, 17 and 18 year olds in first team. Ours are 19/20 and yet we send them out. Mainoo plays at 19 in first team then gets into England squad and team. Wharton comes from champo at 20 I think gets into CP first team and also gets into England squad. Our club does the opposite. We buy young players but send our own academy boys out who are the same age. If these lads were good enough to win the PL2 title surely they should be afforded the chance to get into first team. Their paths are now blocked not only by the younger incomings but also existing players and other transfers in. We know how this goes. I bet none of those in the winning PL2 team will make it as a spurs first teamer bcos they will never get a chance. Especially with Ange in charge. I wonder if say klopp, pep, glassner etc had some of our youngsters if they give them a chance and push and show faith in them!

Especially with Ange in charge? You been spending too much time partying with Biss?
Literally - Moore, Lankshear, Spence added to the squad this year.

And if others were as good as Marino they’d be added too.

You can push your anti-Ange agenda all you like but that post is crap

Referring to Alfie and Donley. They deserve a chance to prove themselves surely. We still have skipp who is not any better than Alfie. We go Werner for left side yet donkey could do a job there perhaps. Just thinking that we should be encouraging our own academy players. BTW Moore cannot go on loan due to age. Young Will may only be kept as cover for CF due to richi crying off all the time with some sort of mysterious injuries.
Who is this donkey you keep talking about? 🤔
What do you think of having an elephant in goal?

If he can keep that promise then go for him!
Of course, even though Spurs have been linked to him for the last 2-3 season now, Levy & Lewis were never going to pay (transfer fee, agent's fees, salary, bonuses, etc) what's needed to bring him to Spurs.

Yeah, of course. Like we spent 60 million cos Bayern gave us 100 million for Kane.
Like I said, the fact we spent 60 million or 65 million doesn't make him a marquee signing and is no justification for lavishing praise upon the Chairman for fuck sake.
It's the absolute bare minimum we should be expecting.
You are STILL repeating this lie. We had the third highest net spend in the PL last season INCLUDING the sale of Kane.

What a charlatan you are.

Knowing liar. Again and again and again.

Yaser Asprilla is fucking incredible and imo we have to make an offer for him sooner rather than later. Our former chief scout brought him to Watford so we have to be aware of him. Michael Olise 2.0. Better than Bakayoko. Better than Kulusevski very shortly. Mohamed Ali-Cho is also better than Bakayoko.

As for a winger I’m increasingly convinced that we should raid the former City boys playing abroad… Bynoe Gittens or Mebude, Vuskovic’s teammate at Westerlo. Just watched some of his tape. One of those two is our long term Son replacement, capable of playing in a high possession EDS City side, but also 1v1 dribbly specialists. Anyways, there’s value here just a matter of if we’re willing to take the risk now that Neto/Eze are off the table.
