Some of you lot really are complete bellends. I come in here looking for transfer news, see it has progressed a few pages more than usual and get excited.

What do I get instead: analysis of whether Anthony Gordon is a thicko or not, which posters are the funniest, someone being accused of sucking off chelsea, someone being called a virgin.
it's who we are mate

What attackers have Newcastle , Villa, Woolwich bought?

I didn't say they had bought any. I said Chelsea had and Liverpool are looking to despite already having better attacks. Those teams you mention all scored more goals than we did as well, Woolwich nearly 20 more.

I just think we needed to add more discernible quality to our attacking play, not just in raw numbers of goals and assists but in what those players can also bring to the overall dynamic of the team and the team's goals/assists etc.

If you are going to dominate ball and attacking third territory like we do, it's vital you can make that count and the players we have - Son, Werner, Johnson, Richarlison - might have some redeeming features (slim though those picking are in some cases) but they don't really fit the possession/territory dominating that we do - ie - they don't operate well in tight spaces. We desperately needed to improve this side of our attack. Odobert might do that, but it might take him 2-4 years to develop. I'm fine with adding a player like this - for tomorrow - but I really think we needed at least 2/3 players for now, one for each side of attack and one for the 8/AM remit (like Eze).

Ange seemed to agree, as the one thing he said since last season was "we aren't getting bang for buck in attacking areas" and after Leicester bemoaned it again.

I would agree with that and I personally feel Solanke offers us a much improved option up front. Odobert too, give us something different to what we had available last season too.

So from my perspective whilst other teams above us haven't added, we have and I'm hoping who we have added will close that gap.

The biggest hope, given we really haven’t added enough plug-in and play quality, is that the team and squad will develop a real chemistry this year with all the young players, plenty of games, and no old farts who don’t want to be there. It’s only a hope though really.

nasm_f After ranting and putting down Richard Arlison Richard Arlison today you're now rating my posts passive aggressively....

Don't care about the ratings.... just don't like being stalked by someone who doesn't have the inclination to have a discussion.

Only 1 game each and not together but we’ve already seen that Solanke and Odobert add things to the dynamic of our team that we didn’t have last year.

Solanke gave us a direct ball to build up through the middle and occupied CBs. Now with Richy we have 2 CFs. That’s an upgrade in itself.

Odobert gave us touch, the ability to keep the ball, attack 1v1 and play heads up football and 1-2’s with Maddison. He went past a FB standing off him.

I get they aren’t the names people wanted and I’d have replaced Werner with another option but I can also see why his loan leaves space for Mikey Moore to come through.

It's really strange. We obviously have the financial capability, and we have unrivaled PSR / FFP slack to play with. We have the location that is one of the most desirable in the world (London)
All that seems to be lacking, as ever, is the desire. 🤷‍♂️

I certainly don't see how we are now considered strong enoug,h, especially with Europe to compete in. Not impressed and a bit baffled.

What comes next seems so inevitable.

And that's on a good day

I'd say the squad looks pretty good. No legitimate backups for Porro, Udogie is the main worry; and we would be unlucky to lose both VDV and Romero.

Logic says we will sign a CB and a full back before the window closes. Walker-Peters and Skriniar ticks the boxes for me, or we could go in for Colwell at Chelsea.

Core (will play every game if fit)
Veliz, Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie, Bissouma, Bentencaur, Madission, Kulu, Son, Odobert, Johnson, Grey, Solanke
Regular Subs (will get minutes in most games)
Sarr, Werner, Dragusin, Bergvall, Devine, Richarlison
Panic Button (will only get minutes if we are desperate)
Davies, Forster, Spence, Lo Celso, Reguillon

Me too. In fairness, as soon as the Werner loan was confirmed, it was a very accurate barometer of what was to come. Quite a few called it then.

It’s just going to be another season full of words like “transitional” and “project”, which I’m sick and tired of. We can’t keep having those seasons every year, time and again, but it’s the loop we are stuck in. At some point, you’ve got to actually have a finished team. But we never seem to get there. Personally, I think it’s just an excuse.

Veliz is on loan and not a goalkeeper. 🤣

And I know you meant Vicario, but you've put 14 players in the "will play every game if fit" bracket. We can only field 11.

I was about to say, unless we get reports, probably today, us being in for a player, then I suspect that will disappointingly be it.

I mean that tweet you're quoting there kinda blows that theory out of the water, doesn't it? Unless I missed it there were no previous links to that player and considering, if true, we were as advanced with the deal that the player was having a medical then it shows no one reporting on Spurs' potential transfers has a clue as to what is going on

Yeah I would say we are done, in regards to incoming, but out goings they probably will try to get a couple more out.
We are going to need some luck with that squad depth, especially in Europe this year as well.
You know, as soon as the window shuts Friday, come Monday we will have 2/3 injuries, the ones that leave a player out for weeks. 😁
