If I had been illiryan I would have come up with a much better attack than that although reading the reply later on he does expose himself as an Enic cock smoker but there are plenty of them about.

A month ago, people were laughing at the clubs recruitment strategy when there were links of Chiesa to Spurs. Calling it typical Spurs that we would end up with a "past-it" injury prone winger because he would cost us peanuts instead of going and signing "a game changer"
Are we suddenly going to pretend that wasn't the case because Liverpool are now on course to sign him?

No - no, we aren’tWas this before it became clear that a more established elite level winger/midfielder wasn't going to be signed?
If my choice is eze vs chiesa, it's eze any day. If my choice is werner/johnson or chiesa, suddenly chiesa is looking much more appealing.
Also, chiesa would be an obvious backup for Liverpool yet at spurs he'd have a great chance of making our starting lineup.
It says alot. Are we serious or not?
Courtois was a better keeper than Hugo.Courtois
Cahill Luiz Dave
Alonso Matic Kante Moses
Hazard Costa Pedro
Out of that lot I'd take Hazard and Kante.

Agree with this. I'd have preferred Williams or Olise but what you going to do. Chiesa is 26. Yes it is a bit of a punt and is a bit opportunistic but if he does well you have a top level player probably worth £50m. Its a gamble but most signings are. I always felt it had the potential to be a Van Der Vaart signing and would have been happy with him signing when we were first linked. Was this before it became clear that a more established elite level winger/midfielder wasn't going to be signed?

Our depth in 16/17 was Wimmer, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Janssen et al. Quite literally worlds apart from some of the talent Chelsea could call upon.
Just checked the other place and found they have a “Jadon Sancho” thread with 300 fucking replies![]()

It gets better it’s based off a “What Lies Beneath” ITK
Fuck me that place is beyond parody
I hate to say it, but their coach was the difference, that and the fact no one had really done the 343 thing like he did.Courtois was a better keeper than Hugo.
Matic was a better DM than Wanyama.
Alonso was a better LWB than Davies who played half our games that season.
Then you look at their depth.
They had Ake as back up CB.
Fabregas and Loftus Cheek backups in midfield.
They were able to interchange Willian, Hazard and Pedro freely.
And they had a better back up to their main striker in Batshuayi than we did.
Our first XL was very good. But their overall depth and that extra bit of quality they had in certain areas won the league for them that year.
Yes people were happy with Werner on £165/wk as a squad player / option. Wasn’t overly keen on Chiesa but at £13M surely that is better than Werner as he is a much better player. So if we didn’t go so gung ho on getting him on loan so early and waited we could have prbly gone in for Chiesa. In which if any has announced a loan deal so early ? Normally loans are done in the last few weeks of transfer window. Something fishy. Not good enough for us according to folk on here yet good enough for Liverpool who already have a better attack than us.

If the shoe was on the other foot and we were desperately after a 6 all Summer only to bid for him late in the window and then the same player turned us down and then going after a profile we don't even need who's injury prone and been desperate for a club all Summer you just know that the usuals would be melting whilst chastising us and how we operate as a club![]()
Yeah, you're right. Because we won't pay the money. Even though we can afford to.
This thing about players who have injuries are we excluding any player who’s had some sort of injury. So let’s say VDV came on the market now are saying we wouldn’t go for him based on his hamstrings? Ffs we would have ruled Maradona!Chiesa will not be able to stay fit playing regularly at this level. Don’t give a toss that he’s gone to Liverpool.
Well, no established elite level winger is coming to Spurs. So that sort of left vague links to Neto, an injury prone Chiesa and anyone out of the blue.
We signed Odobert instead. So I think it worked out pretty well from a profile perspective.
Just find the inconsistencies funny.
Reminds me of when we were linked with Trossard and people were losing their shit saying we lacked ambition. We were going for top four and we were after a Brighton winger..
Then Woolwich signed him and it was "typical Spurs. We get Danjuma and Woolwich get Trossard"
I think based on facts of his record you’d have to say let’s see.If you knew a single thing about football, you wouldn't be questioning why we bought Solanke.
So probably best you don't say anything at all, there's a good fellow!

Conte was and is obviously an excellent coach, but to say he was the sole reason they beat us to the league that season just doesn’t stack up.I hate to say it, but their coach was the difference, that and the fact no one had really done the 343 thing like he did.
He barely changed their 11 all season, so although he had options, he didn't use them much. I was warned of those habits before he started at Spurs by Chelsea fan friends. And we definitely saw it.
