Jesus, Zinchenko, Viera, Trossard and Kiwor

We brought in Richarlison, Perisic, Bissouma, Udogie, Spence.

You're also forgetting that in the Jan window prior we bought in Kulusevski and Bentancur to actually help get us 4th... remind me who they bought that Jan?
Yes but Jesus and Zinchenko had been in title winning team at City. They know what it takes to win the league!! Oh dear , maybe they weren’t that important at City. Both second choices now if they are ever fit.

Neto would be absolute great succession planning for Son at 24 years old.

The geezer is 32 you can't just bury your head in the sand. I think Son's decline will be very swift and brutal once it comes and we should be preparing for that.
I don't think a player who can't play a full season of football can succeed one of our most important players.

Other top clubs attract top players when they drop out of the champions league. We don't sign top players even when we're in it.
Compare Woolwich's transfer window when they finished 5th two years ago to ours when we finished 4th
We just don't have the desire or the will to succeed where it matters to most football fans. On the pitch. And you're just making excuses for it.
Any player worth a shit would make a move to a club tradionally in the CL over one in the EL.

Fucking obvious.

We have over the years spent a ton of money on players.

Most of them just happen to have been shite.

Soldado, Janssen, N'Dombele and the other two N's so famous in a Spurs shirt even I can't remember their names.

N'jie and N'koudou

Thanks blud. You just proved my point for me while pissing over your own argument at the same time.

So, to settle this once and for all.
We don't attract top players even when we qualify for the Champions League. Other top clubs sign top players even when they miss out.

Sick of people gushing over Woolwich on here... it's quite sad that some have such distain towards our club, owners and some of the players that they pine over the scum and selectively talk about their business and recent 'success' just so they can find new and inventive ways to whine about the team they support

Are you saying Romero isn't a top player? Van De Ven? Maddison? Porro? Perisic? What about Eriksen? Vertonghen? Lloris? Alderwiereld? What about Son??

You're having an absolute mare here mate.

No he's not.

Why do people make claims like this, as if they're the truth when it's only mere opinion.

Wow, we've made some successful signings in our history. Some didn't turn out to be complete shite. How amazing we are, how grateful we should be.

:pochsmirk:

Also, be prepared for more begrudging praise of Woolwich on here as they're set to challenge for the PL title again whilst we're nowhere near. Hopefully it won't be long before the roles are reversed!

Once again, if Pep Guardiola is willing to willing to let you go when you are in your supposed peak/don’t have that many miles on the clock, perhaps the player just isn’t that good? 🚩

What I find hilarious/maddening over the constant bed wetting over Woolwich’s transfer activities is that the players who are the cornerstone of their team were all brought early in Arteta’s reign as pretty raw products or very young.

Odegaard got lost in the shuffle at Real Madrid and was 21.

Saliba bought at 18 - loaned for 3 years to Ligue 1, introduced at 21

Gabriel 22

Ben White 23 - one year of prem experience

Saka - Academy product introduced at 18 by Emery

Martinelli - 18 straight from Brazil by Emery

This group are basically the guys that evolved so quickly as a collective that they’ve left the likes of Jesus & Zinchenko behind. Yet there’s a certain bunch on here that will tell you with a straight face that Jesus & Zinchenko are “showing ambition” and they’re the reason why they are where they are.

And not every signing has worked out for one reason or another, Tomiyasu, Lokonga, Kiwior, Fabio Vieira, Ramsdale and plenty more.

As our squad evolves, expect the same who won’t make it, despite us having high hopes for them. “They expect one of us (to be found) in the wreckage brother!” - Bane
