Match Super Cup

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

after tonight game vs Bayern Munich, I am starting to fear for the worst.

This PSG team can just turn up without any training to thrash us.

Also they rotate their team & use subs very effectively - I don't think we have a chance in hell of winning I just don't want to get completely fukked raw with a cactus...

I won't be surprised if we do though...we are a 0 level threat to them.

1 or 2 more wins from PSG at Club World Cup and they will be really rusty when season starts due to lack of proper pre-season.
I do not believe this at all - this comp, has already seen a horrendous injury already, will keep their form up.

I don't believe the narrative that players in this competition will be 'tired' - in fact, I think it'll be the opposite as they'll retain their form. We often forget that the Super Cup match is only 90 minutes...

Have you experienced this cactus before?

If they win the CWC, I would like to think they will be less interested in the Super Cup.

I Hope Please GIF

Its not that they will be tired during Super Cup. They will just not be able to reach proper fitness level after the break they get after CWC.

Super Cup match will be like at the end of theirs 2nd pre season week. So they will just use this match to build their fitness - we will do same against Reading at the end of our 2nd week of pre-season.

Still, it might be enough for them to beat us, but this PSG team will be far from what we see now in terms of their level.

I very much doubt 'this PSG team will be far from what we see now in terms of their level.'

This is why :-

  • Way too early to tell as IF they play the final (no 100% way to say so) it's be 30days I think till the SuperCup?
  • We are a lesser threat than any CWC team
  • So far, they've not received a catastrophic injury like Bayern M have & I don't want that at all
  • More than enough Squad Depth - I think they have 1 injured with 27+ players? I could be wrong but I haven't checked as the last time I did it was during the Champs while I was arguing with a dickhead Woolwich fan
I just don't want Chelsea to win this comp :)

My only thoughts on this are - IF we sign a starting 11 before the SuperCup can we register them for it? I haven't done the research to be honest so that could be a factor but I do not foresee any tiredness issues for them, PSG will put more focus on the CWC due to the prize money.

If I'm being honest even if PSG fly an 80% 'b-team' against us PSG are still favourites to win the SuperCup.

All of that being said I do not think for a moment that 'tiredness' or 'overplaying' will constitute a bad performance, I think IF they don't play as well it's more to do with our threat levels than fitness.

That's the key. Around 30-35 days to super Cup final left, but 21 of those days players will be on vacations that are mandatory according to FIFA rules.

Enrique would be mad to ask them to play with fully force after 1. Such a long season they had 2. Just couple days of pre-season training.

Ofc they can still do us (see: Denmark on 1992 when they did everyone at Euro after coming straight from the beach) - but there is no way IMO they will be at more than 50% of usual themselves.

Players need rest and then proper pre-season, that's just how things works if you dont want to destroy your next season.

You guys are mad, they're trophy hungry and in that zone now where winning is nothing to them. Agreed they won't go full pelt (doubt they will need to anyway) but they're taking that game as weious as anything.

We shall see, as for me that argument doesn't hold weight.

I've applied for tickets, but understand it's a devil to get to. A job for my travel agent I think, unless Sports Direct do a day trip.
It is quite easy MrsP, did it when we played Udinese.

Just base yourself in Venice (so can go to either Venice or Treviso airport)

Just get train up from Venice on day, there will likely be alcohol curfew in Udine on the day, so no drinks after 1pm so drinking in Venice and then on train better option.
