Surfer flag

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm still militant when things require it but right now on this particular subject I think it's important to help younger generations of the clubs fans than myself have some input into how they show their enthusiasm for the club.

As a trust we can only engage with those that actively seek to work with us and that's what we are doing here.

As for your little comment at the end, if that some kind of accusation you'd be better off focusing on former trust board members who like to make themselves appear angelic via social media than me.

No accusation, it turns out it was a sniff of skirt that turned you soft.

Happened to better men than you. Now you have joined the happy clappy flag waving mong brigade.

Hope she's worth it.

Oh and saying you are less corrupt than Wynne and Crader is like saying you are slight less evil than Hitler.....hardly a fucking benchmark

The names would actually be "ghosted" onto a dark blue background so unless you were underneath it or the TV camera focused in very closely you wouldn't be able to see them.

Anything other than a dark blue background (ie white) and it would get filthy really quickly.

Also people need to know this isn't just a surfer and that's it - we (I'm personally not even involved in the atmosphere group) are talking about a whole package of changes designed to build up atmosphere before kick off - music will play a big part of that too.

But there is no perfect recipe, it's going to very much be a case of trial and error and consultation with fans has to play a big part in that. If something doesn't work after 2 or 3 tries then we move on to something else.

1882 will play a massive part on this too and as we continue we'll work with them to find a permanent home within the stadium.

The key goal here is to gain enough momentum and influence that this group is the 1st place the club turn to regarding atmosphere in the new ground BEFORE we move into it.

If it's done properly it won't look forced or contrived and case studies from similar groups up and down the country are being sought

It is good to hear some of what you have said.

I will be open to supporting anything that attempts to improve atmosphere. I do have to ask why it is that "we" are not being asked for our ideas? It appears, and I could be wrong here, that someone copies what is done at other clubs and because they have done it then we now do it e.g. Surffer flag which are regularly mugged off by rival supporters for being plastic (maybe because they don't have one). Is there any proof that a Surffer does generate a better atmos.

What I am trying to say is the majority of the people on here put the atmosphere and vocal support above the result of the game. There is constant discussion about the good and bad, who has the best support and why. I am certain the answers you seek have already been debated, envied and laughed at within this group. Seeing as it would appear that the club is at the stage of looking for ideas I can't think of a better group of people and a better timing than to ask what "we" think would work rather than doing something in the hope that it works.

The examples of great atmosphere are everywhere to be seen and in every positive case it is because the club have aloud the fans that generate it to OWN it and take RESPONSABILITY for it.

Oh come on Carlito, we all soften a bit with age...I just bought an Audi A4..Diesel.........estate.......automatic

:walkercry:

There's buying an old mans car and then there's selling your soul.

The trust wouldn't exist if Darren wasn't using it to get into kats nic knacks. That's a fact.

They have appointed themselves the mouth piece of the fans, I for one think they are an embarrassment.

Although I quite liked some of the more witty banners you (used to) see at games, I'm undecided about surfing flags in general.

I 'spose it's worth giving it a go before putting it down as a bad idea, though I'm struggling to see how it would work at WHL.

Because of the two tier seating the flag will have to go sideways. This puts East stand out because of the posts (and it won't be on TV if that's one of the aims).
The ground also has numerous concrete stair wells that the flag will have to cross, which would impinge access / exit when the crowd and stewards are trying to drag the flag over them.

I like the idea of a surfer, but wouldn't want anything official on it. No players, no official crest. Just a navy blue background with a white cockerel on a white ball in the middle or something similar.

I'm sure Ive posted this video before on another thread, but its message is the same for me.

If the real fans are not involved it will look crap and come across all corporate.
