Bit early for conclusions, lets see how they both fair, think Royal has tools once the culture shock passes. Japanese I presume to be more likely quick to adapt (they always seemed settled when travelling to me). But Royal has that smile, don't underestimate the power of that to this often sullen squad.

So I can see why we went for Emerson, as he offers something different to both Tanganga or Tomiyasu. And Woolwich preferred Emerson too by all accounts.
