Al Gold saying we could bring him in if Aurier is sold. I figure this transfer always rested on getting Aurier out the door.Is this one fucked too then or what?

Multiple journalists have been saying we have been working extremely hard to off load him and no one wants him.You can get aurier out the door no problem just set a reasonable fee.
Somebody will take him for the right price. Nobody is going to want him if you're asking £25m drop that to £15m and somebody somewhere will take him.Multiple journalists have been saying we have been working extremely hard to off load him and no one wants him.

Why not pay Aurier 1M upfront to FOAurier is on 3.5m a year, he wants to match that or he will see out the final year on his contract and become a free agent - Spurs accepted an alleged 9m bid last year, so pretty sure with only a year left on his contract they would accept almost anything to get rid .... it's still possible a club will buy him now rather than have to pay a larger signing on fee when he's a free agent next year, it won't impact Spurs that much Aurier is unlikely to get much playing time (might not even get a squad number) and the few quid we will make by selling him won't matter much when buying Tomiyasu ... the main change from the early summer is Tanganga, who was going on loan, but is now stepping in as a RB/CD, exactly the role Tomiyasu was earmarked for, and Tanganga is homegrown. Buy and one year loan back (so replacing Aurier next summer) is probably the prefered option right now ... it's down to Bologna who are looking around for an all cash deal now, if they can't find one we may still sign him.
He wants his 3.5m salary ... even if we gave him 1m not sure anyone else would pay him the 2.5m, he's that unwanted at the moment. Plus, and this is just anecdotal, he still dreams that a top CL side are coming in for him, and dreams are hard to deny, so any small club (West Ham style) he won't yet even consider it.Why not pay Aurier 1M upfront to FO

I was just pulling out random numbers to make a point tbh. Personally I don't care if we pay up his contract and go for nothing if it means bringing in a player that strengthens the squad.£15m? No chance, literally none. We just sold Sissoko for £3m and that was to a PL team, you think we can get 5 times that for a similarly terrible player with just one year on his deal? The only teams that would want him are in France and they haven’t got a pot to piss in.
