I don't get this - the guy played for Millwall, Forest,Us, Manure, Pompey, Spam and Colchester
and yet he's not allowed to voice his own opinion about one of our players?

Why's that? He didn't exactly show crushing loyalty to us when he left the first time - and he has his own opinions.

See above.. re connection with Stevenage.Yes he's allowed an opinion but sometimes it's just best all round to think before you speak.
Things were going well for him at Stevenage but this has set him back.

He definitely regrets it, hence the latest Harry Kane arse licking comments.

Wasn't he forced out? Sugar didn't want him because he was 31 years old, thought he was done for

A personal story for you guys, I felt a needed more than a few posts for anyone to believe.

Some years ago I was in Vegas playing the wsop. As I was heading to The Rio Casino for day 1 of the main event, I was standing in the taxi line outside Venetian. I happened to look over my shoulder and saw Teddy coming out of the hotel and going towards the queue. Obviously I was wearing a Spurs shirt. Trying to make it look natural, I took small in place steps to turn so he'd see the shirt. As he came up behind me, he smiled as he saw the shirt and gave a "hi mate". I knew that he was playing a lot of poker at the time, so I asked him, if he was on his way to Rio for the poker? He confirmed and asked if I was as well. Followed by a question of whether we should split a cab.

We talked about the Spurs team at the time, but what I really wanted to know about was the mid-90's because this was the time, I became a Spurs fan. More specifically, I did so because I feel in love with Ossie's (insane) tactically approach as the naive kid, I was then. In any case, I asked him, if what Ossie was like as manager, and how he (Teddy) viewed Ossie's very attacking approach. He told me that it was even worse than most people was aware. The basic tactical set-up when Ossie started, was Ossie saying: "When we get the ball, kick it up to Teddy and then eeeeeeverybody run forward" and nothing else.

I would much rather he hadn't - but ..........etc etc

Stevenage is definitely one of the Spursiest places around. I queued for FA Cup tickets in the snow there a few years back and the whole queue was local Tottenham, we even hooked them up by letting them have a money spinning replay... it's got an official shop, and the local paper is always full of Spurs links coming out of Stevenage; youth players, reserve games, friendlies. Chris Day still plays for them! Personally I love it and keep a look out for their results but I think it probably puts a lot of Woolwich off from supporting them as a second team

My dad used to take me to West Ham games as a kid to watch Sherringham play. And it was "kids for a quid" back then. Good times.

Definitely turned me against them even more though. Absolute scummers.

Going on what I have been told, its defiantly more .A mate of mine from Stevenage, who is a Reading fan(no, I don't get it either) reckons most of theirs are spurs and lapsed spurs(as in don't go anymore).
I also lived in east Herts for a good while(Hoddesdon).Hertford is effing dear for a night out these days. Couldn't believe when I attended a 50th there last year. The pubs were London prices

live just south of Stevenage... its all spurs now.. vastly out number any other teams support in the area
one of the reasons spurs opened a shop in the town was they realised many spurs fans have had the good sense to move out
of the shithole called londonski/londonistan for more rural and English speaking areas of the home counties
think they had a look at where st. holders and members lived and realised where there
market has moved too !
does seem like half of enfield /Edmonton from 20 years ago live in north herts now!

Back then ??? It still is kids for a quid.

Every week they do that to make it look like they sell out..
It's the same at the new stadium, tickets are so so cheap, it's so they look bigger than they actually are..

That was what the 100 acre estate in Hoddesdon was like when I was a kid :)

There's some photos of a load of Stevenage skinheads going to an away game in 78 in a double decker bus that surfaced on the interwebby a couple of years back.Think it was Forest first game of the season.

Partially true. Teddy wanted a testimonial and a three year contract. Sugar would only offer him a two year contract and no testimonial. Sheringham felt like he wasn't worth enough to the club and that's ultimately why he left. Fergie swooped in when he found out as they'd just lost Cantona. This rest, as they say, is history!

The story that was doing the rounds at the time was that Teddy went for a drink with Merson.
Teddy asked the Gooner twat where they were going after the bar they were in closed.
Merson replied "Dunno about you,but i'm going home to polish my medals"

Cant see this being true though, as our doubt Merson has ever turned down a late drink in his life...

haha I am over your way tonight. My mate puts on a Reggae do in the Stags Head.
Still an old school pub ,pretty much.A few of the types you describe do venture in, but still a decent boozer
in my youth the stags head was a national front pub..remember ron the landlord!.. always smartly dressed with shirt and tie!. well known nf ( now the bnp ) gent called derek day used to hold court in there.. remember the little off liscense in the pub and taking back the empty lemonade bottles to get your penny deposit back!.
used to hang around at crossbow house just round the corner!.. good mix of yids and goons as kids.. one grew up to be a very well respected goon thug and a good mate still today apart from nld days!
if you've heard of Lennie mclean "the guvnor" he used to go in the stags head and the admiral Keppel at the start of Hoxton market... his nephews where part of our mob and used to own the fruit & veg stall just by the green man at the start of the market which used to be a great pub

the flats opposite where to ones that cunt Russell brand campaigned for!. larging they where in east London the stupid cunt.
also the stags head and orsman road where were the fight scences for a recent football thug movie where filmed.

Derek Day...He was a nutter.
Anyone who wants a glimpse of what he was like check out the sex pistols film "the filth and the fury"
He's the loon that climbs out of his window to have a go at the reporter.
Not sure if its one of your mates, but I was at a mates wedding with a nephew of Lenny's.Cant remember his name, but he's a biker and looks a lot like his Uncle.

Not sure what age you are,but my mate who's 53(I think) is an Hoxton boy,and on his mums side comes from a fairly well known local family. He was the bassist in the 4skins.Even though its been ponced up, I still like Hoxton.
Like Clerkenwell, it has retained some of its character.

Same age mate !..Knew him as a kid.. went to a few of there gigs which usually ended up in mass brawls akin to a wild west saloon.. fucking happy days..
New wave scene splintered of into lots of little scenes then. Skins.. mods.. new romantic.. lefty punks.. always loads going on ... sure it was tc that drove a van through the nags head in hackney road one night!( later to be the hackney cab)
Great to know good people are still about mate...cheers.

incidently. remember a nf march through Hoxton! ( pitfield st to be exact) leading up to Hoxton square where dd was the main speaker.. brilliant off outside the lion boys club and st johns church with the anti Nazi league...think I was 12 or 13! remember it like yesterday.. possibly my first taste of mass violence and the buzz from getting involved ... loads of old bill but then they just let you get on with it until it got out of hand..
