Player The 2024/25 Unavailable (Injury & Suspension) Player Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

On grass but not necessarily in full training.

But I'll happily take that

We really need him for 2nd leg (at home in 2 weeks time) and if he's on bench with maybe 30/45 mins in first leg if needed I'd almost regard that as a bonus

what??
I've been reliably informed on here that doesn't happen, our players go straight from the injury room to full on high intense training with the 1st team then immediately start the next game.

looking forward to seeing how he gets on against City tomorrow night :angesmile2:

Odobert starting and getting 67 minutes before being subbed v ManCity was excellent news - many more mins than expected. Unless there is a reaction, he is ready to play whole matches if needed...... can play LW and RW which could be useful.

Johnson played a full 90 mins v ManCity, so proven to be back.

Udogie got 66 minutes today - same as v Ipswich. Fit enough now, not necessarily back to form ?

Even Werner got 8 minutes ....... not sure that's too important.

So just waiting to see who from Romero, Van de Ven, Solanke and Richarlison make the first leg squad v AZ, and who the 2nd leg : Davies should be back for 1st leg.

It's funny because with all the players coming back I still forgot we have 3 first choice players out. If there had been no injury crises and we were missing VDV, Romero and Solanke coming into a City game I wouldn't have had much hope. Such a disappointing season

From Alistair Gold, prior to AZ 2nd leg

We saw you watching Richarlison doing running on the grass, where's he at in his rehab?

Probably post the international break he should be there or thereabouts depending on his progress It was good to see him back out on the grass. He is working hard to get back in. Hopefully post international break he will be available.

Genuine question: Is there a 1st team player who hasn't been injured this season?
Porro... Is that it?

You can work out the question by yourself but don't forget the likes of Gray, Bergvall, Austin et al.

This is the full 30 man squad today (excluding youngsters such as Ajayi with one appearance) :

GK's (5) - Vicario, Kinsky, Austin, Forster, Whiteman
CB's (5) - Romero, Van de Ven, Davies, Dragusin, Danso
FB's (4) - Porro, Udogie, Spence, Reguilon
CM;s (5) - Bissouma, Bentancur, Sarr, Bergvall, Gray,
AM's (2) - Maddison, Kulusevski
FWDS (9) - Solanke, Johnson, Son, Richarlison, Tel, Odobert, Werner, Moore, Scarlett

At the start of the season it was more like 20 odd players : but problem was a few players who seemed to be injured/otherwise unavailable/not fully fit very early on in the season without really playing whether Richarison, Odobert, Romero et al (with no real connection to Spurs or coaches).

Then you need to look at the real number of players available for every match and the numbers quickly reduce ..... but there may be less than optimal rotation of players given we were looking at the outset at close to 60 matches (assuming going deep in many competitions plus PL) in the season and games every 3 or 4 days (playing weekend and then mid week).

But look at the match day threads on TFC particularly in the first 3/4/5 months and the angst from many 'fans' when anything other than the same players 'first team' players were suggested for each match. So a lot of pressure against rotation.

So the real answer is more rotation to prevent many of the injuries we get. But that will not cure some injuries such as Vicario's injury or Forster's ....... and I cannot recall any other team using 4 GK's in one season which shows just how complicated the injury issue is as every GK wants/needs a defence set up differently so there is a learning curve with each change of GK, and in turn means mistakes by defenders on each change....... which of course produces poorer results than we'd all hope for

So best of luck in working through and interpreting the various changes in team/squad and injuries beyond the superficial

So its Tel, Bergvall, Gray, Austin, Porto, Scarlett who are without an injury so far?

Im not sure on Kinsky, Whiteman, Bissouma...

If we don't sell Richie or even terminate his contract at the end of this season, there's no helping us.

...yeah, I can, but could t be bothered to type out our entire 30 man squad list.... Or indeed an in-depth analysis of each player & position... 😏

So thanks for doing that, I'll get on it now!😉

Richarlison and Van de Ven seemed to be back in full training.

I didn't see Kulusevski or Danso - but might have missed them.

Those 4 were the 'not available' category prior to International Break

Bergvall didn't play in international break reportedly due to cold/flu symptoms - would be good to get reports of him being back in training, although there are still 6 days before our next match next Thursday

Scarlett the only one of the players that played an international on the 24th/25th/26th that returned early, clearly wants to impress.
