We allowed far too many free kicks and corners to allow Everton to pump the ball in but despite expecting 1 of them to cause problems we coped well. Having Toby back allowed much better distribution from the back. Biggest disappointment was the attack that again did not produce. A deflected goal all we had to show and we really need to improve on that.

One thing is clear to me Sanchez is not good enough of a footballer to play for us as anything other than cover. The problem is his physical attributes are desperately need. Toby ad and Dier will get found out by quicker players we need to recruit a fast strong ball playing CB. They don't grow on trees mind.

Lloris - - Easy saves.

Aurier - - Neither good nor bad. Seems like he was instructed to play a bit more deeper.
Alderweireld -Very good
Dier - - Very good
Davies - Ok

Sissoko - Very good. MOTM?
Winks -Very good. MOTM?
Lo Celso -Didn't do what he's supposed to do but he tried.
Lucas -Speedy, Caused them problems
Son - Not a good game at all
Kane -Not his best game.

Lloris - 6 - Not really sure he even had to make a save?

Aurier - 6 - Neither good nor bad. Seems like he was instructed to play a bit more deeper.
Alderweireld - 6 - Meh. He's such a shadow of his former self.
Dier - 6 - Poor positionally at times, Richarlison shot in the first half for example. Wins alot of headers though.
Davies - 6 - Probably the worst of our defence. Needless fouls. Awful in possession.

Sissoko - 5 - The less said, the better.
Winks - 7 - Kept it ticking, put in some good tackles and interceptions
Lo Celso - 7 - He's such a class above the rest of our lot, like his mean streak.

Lucas - 5.5 - When Lucas is your most dangerous attacking option, you should be worried.
Son - 5 - Not a good game at all
Kane - 5 - Again, not his best game.

I thought Kane had a good game. Aside from Lo Celso, there's no other player in the side that was creating chances. Not one. Son and Lucas look out for themselves more than anything. The midfield is industrious but not one that looks forward to break lines. It's tough for him. I can just imagine him playing in a side like City and having no problem scoring 30 league goals a season.

He was shocking mate. Barely had a touch. Doesn't even look fit.

I think we watched a different game. He barely had a touch because he wasn't in the back 4 taking all the back passes from Winks and Sissoko.

When him. Son and GLC were able to link up they created chances. He shouldn't be expected to go back to the halfway line, get the ball and then go score. He needs people to get the ball to him and his teammates were not doing that.

Moura bungled so many potential chances, Winks and Sissoko were dreadful in their passsing and the FB's offered nothing. He didn't do much but that was 100% because his teammates didn't give him a chance. When he was able to get the ball with GLC and Son good things happened.

Maybe he could have got an incomplete because of how useless his teammates were but he was good when asked to do something.

You rated Sissoko 3, Kane 7... Lucas 2... Whatever mate.

Sissoko was brutal out there, couldn't pass, not great in tackles gave away free kicks a 3 was generous.

Moura stopped every positive move going forward. As mentioned GLC, Son, Kane all worked well together then Lucas would get the ball and f it all up. Couldn't pass, couldn't work well the others and the right side of the field was a nightmare for Spurs all game long.

LLoris 6 nothing to do
Aurier 6 not sure why he’s getting all these bad ratings, one of his better games
Alderweireld 7 should have been playing since the restart
Dier 7 good game
Davies 5.5 gave away too many free kicks, final ball poor
Sissoko 5.5 Being Sissoko
‘Winks 6 neat and tidy , Gave away a pointless free kick in a dangerous position
Lo Celso 7 good game
Lucas 4.5 one good run but otherwise awful. Gave away another free kick in an even more dangerous position.
Son 6.5 Not his best but at least looked our most likely to score.3 shots, 2 on target and one curled just wide
Kane 5 Still looks a million miles from match fitness .

If I am brutally honest, and the truth is pretty brutal for those of us that don't just see football as a result on teletext, I think since the restart, we have actually seen some meagre evidence of Mourinho-ism finally having some kind of effect. But it's so incredibly marginal. I even checked the X/G's (which give an unbiased measure of the quality & quantity of chances) and even they are struggling to pick it out. If you compare the corresponding games, earlier in the season we had a 4.22 XG against, this last 4 games 4.6 so it's actually eeked up by 0.38. Our XG for has gone from 4.5 in the corresponding games down to 4.3.

So the metrics say we're actually marginally worse in terms of chances we're allowing and marginally worse in chances in chances we are creating.

Bottom line, if there is any improvement, it's slim fucking pickings.

Sissoko, Aurier and Moura form an access of dim on the right side, which is like one of those black holes in the galaxy, anything that drifts into it's nebulous orbit, gets sucked into an oblivion vortex:

This shows how reliant we were on the left side, despite the fact that Aurier is our de-facto attacking FB:

Sissoko's ability trundle out of reach of anyone looking for an out ball is truly world class, and whilst Winks was at least a fair bit more available (received 52 Sissoko 28), he too can play peek a boo at times, and just as when Poch reached for this double pillock pivot, the result was a midfield that struggled to join the back to front of the team with any real incision.

Will we ever see a real midfield again? Does Mourinho's white board only have 4231 on it?

Fuck knows, finding it hard to care.

In fairness, with regards to the attacking areas, it looked like aurier was told to be more withdrawn and davies to get forward slightly more than usual.
