But managing at club level, he's with players just about every day. At International level he will only see the players he selects every now and then. He will have far less opportunity to fall out and alienate some players as he has done in the past.
If Southgate can get us to finals, without playing particularly well, this man is more than capable of doing the same at bare minimum.
Actually there were talks for him to stay in the end, as a lot of important players including Kane were on board with him. But Tuchel, who has a strong personality, never stood a chance their with tools like Matthaus and Effenberg behind the scenes.
