Match The ENGLAND thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He can’t move anymore, so it’s very easy to criticise him. Ball to feet and there’s pretty much nobody who can do more than him with it.

I just think we need alternatives and a succession plan. We seem to have and be doing that so I’m happy. We can’t always rely on him and sometimes need more strings to the bow.

That's why you need players around him that will do the running for him. The issue England have had is that there have been times when Kane has dropped deep there just hasn't been enough people getting forward.

He should't automatically start every single game for England now but he's still world-class.

England fans elated just as we were when we beat a sh!t Everton.

Fcuking exhibition game and all but meaningless but wait for the embarrassing froth to follow.

They’re definitely crap, yeah.

Nations league will mean something when we start playing the top sides. We need to take it seriously and gather as much experience of pressure games as possible.

Spain won it pre-Euros, France won it recently etc. Top teams do go for it at the latter stages.

Talking of Wimbledon (and Ireland). That reminds of a good real crime book I read a few years ago.

He's had a fine game and his penalty was top drawer
TBH Bill, he had a poor first half. Of the chances we did make, I can't remember seeing him in the frame, let alone the box. The ball over the top, where he looked like his boot laces were tied together, had me thinking that we needed to hook him at half time.

However, he then goes and does what World Class players do, takes the ball deep and plays a peach of a ball into Bellingham, then finishes the whole thing of clinically.

He's still capable of sublime moments, but I honestly don't think he suits the way we currently play. That may change under Tuchel, but if we're going down the high press route, I'd go with Watkins ahead of him. TBH, I'd have Solanke in there over both, but that may just be Spurs bias talking.

That doesn’t always work. Sometimes you need a striker who also moves and keeps defenders honest. In certain games a Watkins or a Solanke or even a Toney is worth trying. Especially later in games.

We seem to have worked that out of late. The way we are using Kane is smarter. He’s not just in there for 90 regardless every match.

It’s good times as an England fan. We have so many options across the pitch. I bloody love what Curtis Jones is giving us in midfield.
