Well the start of 14/15 is staying true to injury traditions. Let's hope the new manager doesn't follow suit with those ones.

Anybody know why Capoue & Mason missed the friendly??

My guess is those who didn't play simply had a focused session on fitness. Note it included the late WC players, who would need such a session at this point over a friendly in which they'd likely just play 45 minutes anyway.

Thanks. Than explains what they will do instead...but not why they didn't play?

It explains what I believe they did Saturday instead of playing. IIrc, Poch said something along those lines in the pregame press, that they were having another training session. Capoue and Mason have each seen plenty of gametime in the friendlies, Poch may have deemed it more important they do focused fitness work with the WC players rather than simply play another half in a friendly. Hell, had a coach at one point who set it up such that if you didn't make a set number in the "beep test," you didn't play the upcoming game. Would make all the more sense for a preseason friendly to withhold for more fitness work as opposed to midseason as it was for us.
