Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

With regards to what he says in the media, I’m not sure I’d get too worried about it.

I can’t help but feel it’s one of those situations where he says one thing in front of the media but behind the scenes says something different. I think he wants to try and take the pressure off of the players and the coaches

e.g.

Saying set pieces aren’t an issue - he knows they are, but doesn’t want a witch-hunt on Jedinak and doesn’t want the players to believe the hype created in the media about Vic on corners.

The other one was his comments on not caring about Top 4, that got massively taken out of context. What he meant was that he’s not interested in just a top 4 challenge, he wants to win the league. he’s not satisfied with just settling for Europe.
Totally get that and I tried to say similar (just very badly).

manner of defeats have been poor, but this period was always going to be rough with the way the fixtures shaked out. don't recall having a run like this before in recent times

But I'm still seeing the methods in a new way playing, even if the players have stopped being brave on the ball and playing the quick forward thinking passes. maybe they're on the beach, lost a bit of faith etc but then that's cool, just means they arent built for this and like to play without pressure and can fack off. I have no doubts Ange is making a note of those guys.

He's always said even when we looked great that the bad periods would come, as that was an important part of the growth.

no more sacking and hiring's hoping for an absolute miracle. Back the man and...

Trust the Process

So Excited Flirting GIF

No one sane wants him sacked

We have to back someone this same core of players is on its 4th manager now. It's obvious where the problem lie and its the squad.

Ange will know who he wants and who he doesn't, my fear is that the goons who own us don't have the stomach to do what needs doing and accept the losses on players that need to go.

Forward line needs a full rebuild and it's looking more and more like we need at least 2 new midfielders also. And that's just this summer
FFS. It is NOT the same core of players.

Please deal in facts where the issue is a matter of fact.

Is the defence and GK the same? No?

Is the midfield the same? Madders and Sarr were not in before this season. Biss hardly used. So no there too.

Is the attack the same? Well, Johnson and Werner were not here before this season either.

Son, Davies, Hojb ... yes. So what. Every club has a similar few survivors.

A year ago your observation had some validity. It has zero now.

Excuse me, CUNTO, but this is the positivity thread.

You wanna post your negative stuff, stick to other threads. Plenty of 'em.

Now please, vanish.

Point still stands players who stay here or are here follow a pattern that's been the same since Poch went.

New man comes in play out there skins hype builds. 4 months later falls to shit.

Last man to get a tune out a squad for a full season was Poch what 5 years ago now?

It's the players or the atmosphere at the club but something is rotten. And most of that squad has been through at least 3 managers or 4 if you include Mason multiple times.

I don't know about being positive, but optimistic that Ange will be able to attract some Japanese players at some point in the future.

The media training premier league managers do is pretty full on.

He has to put up with fat fool moose asking him questions every week with a smirk on his face and then badmouthing spurs the other 99.9% of his week at his press conferences.

I think Ange has gone through the whole spectrum of adulation of Angeball to slimy Redknapp and that Chelsea woman and presenter literally laughing at Spurs last night.

The pressure on managers is huge. Saying the right thing 100% of the time is impossible.

I take it all with a large pinch of salt anyway. I won’t lose sleep over what he says / others say.

Unless you're counting Stellini and Mason, no this group isn't on its fourth manager. It's mostly a new squad vs the Mourinho and Nuno era.

And that's actually why Ange needs more time. There's no point binning it all again, yet.

We had just come off our most diabolical season since… AVB? Longer?

Give the man time. Everyone would have taken 5th at the start of the season.

Klopp won 16 in his first season. Arteta won 14 in his first season. Postecoglou has already won 18.

Give him time you melts.
Brilliant - Thank you for the well considered dose of perspective.

For some reason we as a fan base demand immediate success, or what we view as success

Maybe it’s because we’ve been starved of it, maybe it’s because we genuinely are deluded, but it IS a trait we have as spurs fans

Goons under Arteta Liverpool under Klopp, even City under Pep for the first season had to suffer. Arteta and Klopp suffered for multiple seasons, but look where those teams are now

We have a chance with Ange, he plays football the right way, is optimistic and he understands the club and the fans

If we give him time and ENIC give him the resources he needs then I can see us becoming as good as those teams, we as fans can do our part and give him the time, ENIC doing their part remains to be seen but historically they haven’t

We need to trust Ange
