Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

People always seem to say this, I can remember the same hype about Anton Ferdinand coming through at West Ham after Rio had left...

:pochshock2:

Pretty sure we had people on here speculating the same about Steven Sessegnon after we had signed Ryan.

Always easy to claim when a younger sibling is ripping it up in the youth teams whilst the elder is getting to grips with top level men's football.
I think that it also stems a bit from younger brothers/siblings usually having to grow very quickly if they want to keep up with their elder siblings. Even if they are just playing on the playground.

My brothers are friends with a set of hockey playing brother. The elder brother is a professional in the Swedish league which is nothing to scoff at, and he had a brief run in the AHL. But it is the younger brother who has gone all the way to being a NHL starter.

We ain’t getting elite players. It’s gone, we don’t pay the wages.

Delap is about as good a young striker you can get without paying a massive fee like Gykores. Hincapie is a top quality LCB, the rest are talented kids that already have very good experience. We don’t buy much beyond that so the best we can do is fill our obvious holes.
Yeah. People need to realise that the focus at Spurs is always going to be on mainly buying younger players that can grow into top talents and sold on. With the odd established veteran sprinkled in. That's always been Levy's MO and he only really diverted from it with Conte.

As long as Levy is here we are never going to go out and just buy exclusively top shelf players.

This has not been the strategy historically. The players we’ve sold for big money are ones who wouldn’t sign a new contract like Kane, Berbs or Modric. Bale was the only real exception to that and he has to force his move through.

Levy could have always been following instructions about spending that ENIC have laid out. If we have new owners whose strategy involves a lot more spending I’d be happy to keep Levy in control.

His instructions have clearly been to make the club self-sustainable because Lewis would never invest another penny after buying it. But if part of the strategy was making money through player sales they’ve been awful at it on the whole.

He’s a good player. Not gonna reach his brother’s heights, but he could be an effective PL midfielder. Reminds me a little of young Jenas before the injuries.

They look like twins

I think many clubs may tke the chance with him, if he keeps on improving.

The older Bellingham is as good as he is arrogant.

Where he is better than Alli was, for example is the insatiable appetite from 1st to last. It's astounding.

Next England captain,if he stays grounded.

True but if whoever takes over and will invest big money into transfers I would be happy for Levy to stay on. He would have new instructions and let’s be honest he is a bloody clever man. Buy the club, keep Levy, tell him there’s money to spend.

Can handle being linked to Harry Gray and Riggs , but the walker peters links beggar belief. The strive for glory does not end at past players who were not good enough then and have not improved enough to be good enough now.

I'd say so. He's been a regular for a Championship (calling 2nd division that name is really silly btw) promotion contender, Sunderland, for 1 1/2 season now, and he's only 17 still (turns 18 in June). He's a bit quicker and more agile than Donley I think (albeit I have seen very little of Donley).
But I would not mind to be proven wrong

If he’s a lefty OM that’s the decision they need to make.

Never seen Rigg but Donley will probably tear it up in the Championship next season. Kid seems to have that genius football brain to make up for any lack of pace.
