I agree but that's what's being suggested. So we will just have to wait and see!
Don't think anyone is paying the 65m+ that Levy will demand for Romero. Reckon he signs a new deal.
I’d prefer that than selling him.Atletico will plead poverty and not get near a fair bid for him.
.......But at that point he won't sign a new deal tho'; he'll just wind his current one down and move for free in summer 2027 (at the prime CB age of 29).
don't think he'll be going anywhere
If we switch to 3 at the back it lessens our need for a new DM....... [cont below]
.......Providing we don't play 343; which is doomed to fail in the EPL(*).
If we play 3 at the back it has to be 352.
(*Unless you have a god-tier CM like Kante or Dembele; whom have the net effect of 2 men.)
He’d be better than the replacement we’ll get even if he’s injured for 40% of the season.I'm torn..... I don't want a sloppy want-away version dragging the rest of the team down (he can be dreadful if his head's not in it).
His availability record is pretty shite too......... If he's to be our main man he needs to be available for more than 60% of our games.
Wage bill will increase by 10+%.Yep, Levy will take this summer as an opportunity to downgrade our squad but save on the wage bill.
Yeah I have no faith in the club finding the #6 we need. So with this squad adding a 3rd CB, especially since Romero has a better passing range than most of our mids anyways, make sense. Maybe Sarr can step up and be that midfielder who eats up all the ground ?
Want to tweak it to a 3-5-2 ? Sure. Just please stop forcing players into roles they’re not suited to.
No more Son, Johnson or Kulu as touch line wingers.
Stop playing anyone in our current squad as a 6.
And please stop inverting our FBs.
Being fit for a third choice is majorWoolwich let Tierney go for free and he's still a better player then Davies. If you know they aren't good enough then why keep them as back up because once you've a few injuries then that's why your left with to play every week. Results and performances drop off then. We saw this all last year. We needed to upgrade on some of our back up players.
This season showed that you can't get away with having the likes of Forster, Davies, Werner and Lankshear as your back up because once a few injuries come you are literally down to the bare bones.

The best way to reduce his chance of muscular injuries is buying another competent RCB who can rotate with him.
It's all internet/media lead my friend unless you have club connections which I doubt! That's why when people post they question their own posts with question marks and words like if true etc so it becomes an hypothesis but admittedly opens that poster up to having certain types jump on it with sarcastic remarks, which I'm guessing make them feel in some way superior? Again I'm hypothesising!Waaay too much internet for you today mate......
Sonny might get a 100m payday for moving to Saudi IF he chooses to go, but we certainly won't.
He's 33 in a couple of weeks... If we get 40/50m we ought to be extremely pleased cos no other clubs in Europe will pay that kind of money for him at this late stage.
But wouldn't such posts be more useful for discussion if they had more realistic numbers in them? Whatever clickbait / shock media might have to say, do you seriously think we'd get £80m+ for Son? If not then probably more useful to post a sensible number instead. It's all internet/media lead my friend unless you have club connections which I doubt! It's a discouraging start as this pretty much signals what Levy's plan is. Bargain buys, renewals of players who should no longer be at the club and of course, loan signings which the new manager will not play.Last season we started off with the very disappointing news that Werner was coming back which was a mistake and this year we have kicked off with the extension of Davies's contract. Now Davies has been a good loyal player but it is now time for him to go. I can see Romaro going and we have VDV, Danso, Dragusin, Davies, the 18 year old from Croatia and Phillips and therefore do not replace him.
Not an encouraging start to the window.

We need better quality squad depth in defence. Re-signing Davies was a bad sign.Unless he's fit AND focussed he's not.
The version we had at the beginning of the season was utter shite.
Eh? We already have that in Danso.
It's a sign that, levy isn't prepared to spend much money on the squad. We need better quality squad depth in defence. Re-signing Davies was a bad sign.
Is Vuskovic up to first team level already? If so fair enough. If Romero stays we aren't buying yet another RCB.... Don't be silly.
That'd be Romero, Danso & Vuskovic (+ Phillips out on loan).
