Yeah I have no faith in the club finding the #6 we need. So with this squad adding a 3rd CB, especially since Romero has a better passing range than most of our mids anyways, make sense. Maybe Sarr can step up and be that midfielder who eats up all the ground ?
Want to tweak it to a 3-5-2 ? Sure. Just please stop forcing players into roles they’re not suited to.

He’d be better than the replacement we’ll get even if he’s injured for 40% of the season.
The best way to reduce his chance of muscular injuries is buying another competent RCB who can rotate with him.

It's all internet/media lead my friend unless you have club connections which I doubt! That's why when people post they question their own posts with question marks and words like if true etc so it becomes an hypothesis but admittedly opens that poster up to having certain types jump on it with sarcastic remarks, which I'm guessing make them feel in some way superior? Again I'm hypothesising!
But wouldn't such posts be more useful for discussion if they had more realistic numbers in them? Whatever clickbait / shock media might have to say, do you seriously think we'd get £80m+ for Son? If not then probably more useful to post a sensible number instead.
It's a discouraging start as this pretty much signals what Levy's plan is. Bargain buys, renewals of players who should no longer be at the club and of course, loan signings which the new manager will not play.
Davies won't be our 2nd choice anything next season...... He'll just be an HG emergency utility player.
FWIW; Werner & Lankshire weren't #2s last season either (Odobert & Richarlison respectively were).

We had Romero, VDV & Dragusin all out at once..... We even lost Davies at one point and had to play a combo of Gray & Spence at CB, FFS!!!!
Similarly; we had Odobert, Werner, Richarlison, Moore (and at times one of Son & Kulu) all out at once.
We need better quality squad depth in defence. Re-signing Davies was a bad sign.
If Romero stays we aren't buying yet another RCB.... Don't be silly.
That'd be Romero, Danso & Vuskovic (+ Phillips out on loan).
It's a sign that, levy isn't prepared to spend much money on the squad.
Is Vuskovic up to first team level already? If so fair enough.
Regardless, who would we get as a replacement if we sold Romero? We already finished 17th and we’d be making our squad even worse/ cheaper.
