Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My main transfer targets will be

Douglas Luiz
Eze or Ederson (Atalanta)
Mbuemo
Cirkin (for club trained)
Tel (if Frank wants him)
Out of interest why either eze or ederson? They play completely different positions. Surely it's Luiz or ederson?

Luiz will 100% be on paratici's list this summer though we have had interest in him before.

Luiz or ederson (for the cm2 I think we'll have)
Eze (for inside left or 10)
Mbueno (rw)
Cirkin
Perhaps a lcb to rotate with vdv

Yeah we have no magic in forward areas. Maddison the only one but he's flakey.

Biggest priority for me this summer. A DM would be nice but we can survive with what we already have as long as we have a frontline that opposition fear.
Considering the sheer number of goals we conceded in both Ange seasons (60+) I don't think we can survive not getting in a robust ball winning DM who can cover ground.

Luiz purely for no6.

I see Eze & Ederson as no8 options. For Atlanta, Ederson-DeRoon play as double pivot. Ederson can run so I see him as no8

Getting Luiz is the key. He is available for transfer.

Then its icing on cake - Eze or Ederson. Just these 2 signings IMO, would transform us big time.

If Cardoso to Ateltico opens up the chance to get Gallagher on a low ish fee I wouldn't be against that at all!
I just don't think it's a goer, I don't think it was Chelsea that didn't want to deal with us the first time we wanted him, I think the player just never wants to play for us, he's Chelsea through and through and so are his whole family IIRC. He's not the flashy midfielder I would really want but definitely better than what we have, that I agree to.

Solanke got 24 goal involvements this season (16 goals and 8 assists) whilst pressing like a demon and acting as focal point in the attack - which helped Son. Johnson, Maddison and Kulusevski end up with about same number of goal involvements each. Its a team game so they all help each other.

Feel like anyone taking shots at Solanke didn’t watch most of our matches. Guy was feeding off scraps all season.

Solanke was the most misused Spurs player under Ange. Solanke ran himself into ground with no plan for properly pressing.

Frank does man to man pressing in a good way. He would use Solanke to fullest. Also, he will use him to be target man more efficiently.

Understood and agree. I think we will setup in a 4231 under frank and I see either Luiz or ederson as being perfect for the 2 cm spots. Either of these 2 with bergvall, bentancur and gray should make the 4 spots imo with both bissouma and sarr making way IMO.

But your right they would transform the team and elevate us massively, top quality players capable of playing every type of pass and good at controlling the game which will be crucial especially in the cl.

When Brenford were in championship, they played possession football. For it, best would be a 4-3-3
Bergvall for me is the one to build the XI around. I cannot see a main XI without him.

Bergvall & Eze with Luiz would my dream midfield for next season.

We can dream in this thread. FFS, would be game changer if we go & do it.

Davies won't be our 2nd choice anything next season...... He'll just be an HG emergency utility player.

FWIW; Werner & Lankshire weren't #2s last season either (Odobert & Richarlison respectively were).

"A few injuries" - LOL....... How utterly gaslighty.

We had Romero, VDV & Dragusin all out at once..... We even lost Davies at one point and had to play a combo of Gray & Spence at CB, FFS!!!!

Similarly; we had Odobert, Werner, Richarlison, Moore (and at times one of Son & Kulu) all out at once.
Ya so buy better back up and don't leave yourself exposed again

So when brentford were playing the 433 what type of profile would the wingers/wing forwards have? I only ask this as I don't think in a 433 either maddison or kulu fit in anywhere with a midfield 3 you suggest. Brennan would and I suppose that's where mbeuno would fit in.
We have alot of youngsters that stand to benefit from a manger like Frank. Udogie, vdv, gray, bergvall, moore especially.

I'd like to see this attack in games where we're up against a low block:

Eze ---- Solanke ---- Kulusevski
Maddison---Bergvall
DCM
... with Eze, Maddison and Kulu given license to swap positions fluidly.

Yeah proper headless chicken under Ange. Hopefully he plays in a way under Frank that actually leaves enough in the tank for him to be more clinical in front of goal (see breakaway vs United in the Final)

Vic
Porro - Romero - VDV - Udogie
Luiz
Maddison - Bergvall
Mbuemo - Solanke - Eze

TBH; the magic ball-playing, hard bastard DM we crave (and need if we're gonna play a proper 433) is a bit of a unicorn right now........... No-one's here's really throwing any names about.

Some young candidates:

Baleba, Bouaddi (Lille), Bischof (Hoffenheim) Lemine Camara (Monaco)

Have only seen little bits of Bischof, but he’s got a nice combo of tenacity and passing, just not sure about his athleticism.
