CL qualification for everyone else = Add to the squad and improve.

CL qualification for Spurs = Sell established player and replace with kid from obscure league for 5m. Sign youngster for 35m that failed on loan.
plus throw in one summer loan transfer and one winter loan transfer in
at least there is a consistency each year with Levy even if it is a shit one

It’s pretty clear now that Ange wasn’t sacked for winning the EL, he was sacked for realizing that winning trophies isn’t part of the model.

As soon as he started talking about wanting to win more and needing experienced players, he was toast.

The more time passes since he was moved on, the more it looks likely that he was managing against the club to win that EL.

Bombshell: Tottenham and Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of "Cuti" Romero.

The World Cup-winning defender with the Argentine national team is one of the players sought by "Cholo" Diego Simeone for his defense. Like never before, the former Belgrano de Córdoba player is close to joining the Atlético squad. Details... This weekend, both institutions reached an understanding in their talks, and the defender, who won a world championship with the "Albiceleste" in Qatar 2022, is close to joining the ranks of "Cholo" Diego Simeone for a fee of €55,000,000 plus €10,000,000 in variables.

Not enough. We bought him for 50,000,000. Add another 20m Euros and see what comes back.

I think he's overrated by this fanbase but he's a good player - and will look even better in Spain. Atleti have recently shown that they're willing to spunk on quality too.

I already said this mate..it's clear but people don't want to accept it.

They didn't give a damn that he had us finishing 17th and was quite possibly the worst tactician known to mankind. They cared when he insisted we needed to buy experience and going the youth route was a "mistake".

Better than the supposed exodus that was going to happen, expected it 15 first teamers gone by now the way people were talking on here

The likelihood is that Son will remain until after the pre-season tour of South Korea. I'd hope he stays at Spurs, but his marketing value makes him very attractive to USA for world cup promotion.

Romero pretty much said outright that he would leave if Ange was sacked. So, it's no surprise. 50/60m for a player that has started less than half of games is a pretty decent fee.

Bentancur and Bissouma entering last year of contract. I would have expected Bentancur to have an extension on the table, so it's possible his agent will be shopping him around.
