Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah, that's fair. However, Liverpool did apologise for their conduct, which is an admission of guilt in itself, but no it wasn't "proven."
They must’ve been able to prove it but gave pool first option

Remember Liverpool didn’t just apologise but paid an extra 10mil on top …, so Southampton definitely had proof

I’ve always wondered what they had that made that case of ‘tapping up’ significantly different to all the other cases where ‘heads were turned’

go on the Harry Winks thread or Eric Diers, and then come back with that complaint

hall of fame game missed the point GIF

As they should. Showing some ambition at least. I’m off to thee ENIC thread to change my vote to “in”.
Ditto. Lol.

Nah I'm real chuffed with the Kudus & especially MGW signings, but we still have a few issues that do need addressing. We lost 22 games and finished 17th last season...obviously Frank plus them two lads should/will help us climb up the table, but it ain't enough to reach the top 3-4 IMHO.

We need to look at the goalie situation...and I ain't talking about just Vic. Defo need a left-footed CB who can stay fit the whole season and more experienced than Micky...if the latter drops to the bench, so be it, earn your place back! I wouldn't be sad at all if we brought in Antonee Robinson and he started ahead of Udogie. Still need a tough tackling bastard in the middle. An elite CF wouldn't go amiss either...sorry big Dom. Also, let's ship out the ones who've been stinking up the place for too long...looking at you Richy, Biss and a couple others. Sonny leaves as a legend.

Wasn't it photographic evidence of Klopp meeting up with VVD?

Not for me mate.

I get why you’d say that but generally speaking we’ve seen him in a bunch of systems and we know that his ceiling is elite but the floor is diabolical and he’s not consistent across a full season.

He will do great in Türkiye and we can get some resale from him. He bows out a winner and always welcome back
My man, Biss has never been elite and likely never will be. You got to have brains for that.

Bossing the midfield vs Bodo or Ahdjlluddby FC don't mean you're elite.

I think they spoke about this on the View From The Lane podcast a while ago.

Before the VVD saga(?), clubs would agree a fee with the club before negotiating terms. Now it seems that clubs negotiate terms with a player before a fee, even though they shouldn't, through intermediaries like agents etc. Clubs just turn a blind eye to it because it's what everyone does now.

Nah, start of Ange’s first season, there was a stretch where he was every bit an elite #6. Unplayable. Then some iffy bookings and reds, mixed with his own lack of consistency and it all fell apart.

Love him but if he goes, it won’t break us.

All clubs had been negotiating with players before agreeing fees wayyy before the VVD situation. What’s the point spending ages negotiating with a club if you don’t even know if the target wants to join? That’s why you rarely see personal terms fail.

If MGW agent tells Spurs there is a release clause - then how is that Spurs fault or the players?

Let’s see Forests “evidence”

Didn’t they try hanging onto Sheringham as well when we came calling?
Well because technically we’re still not allowed to approach a forest player without forest’s permission (that will obviously include via an agent)

Just like

Simeone isn’t allowed to contact Romero without our consent …. Admittedly athletico have done everything possible in the grey zone of turning a players head but probably haven’t quite crossed that line (at least not that we can prove as I’m certain Romero has been approached )

Putting in a release clause that should remain undiscovered does create a kind of contract paradox

One to add to the list I guess. Maybe one below the hangman

Of course, and back in the day it meant clandestine meetings at airport hotels. Now with encrypted messaging and video chat it’s impossible to stop agents talking to prospective clubs.
