Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hugo Lloris
Came out out for a low cross after the half hour mark and spilled the ball under pressure. It rolled to Gundogan and he slammed it back into the unguarded net. He made a stunning full length save to tip away Gundogan's curling shot. Couldn't get close to Mahrez's superb penalty kick. Such was the performance of the defence he didn't actually have that much to do other than that one superb save. 6

Cristian Romero

Unfortunate with the handball for the penalty because he was superb on the night, making interceptions galore including one crucial late clearance in front of his own goal. 9

Eric Dier

Back in the team and the back three looked so much better. Very little got past him and everyone looked so much more organised. 9

Ben Davies

Played a quick and precise ball into the path of Kane in the build-up to Spurs' early goal. Made a superb block to deny Foden in the first half and played a superb crossfield ball to Kulusevski in the build-up to the 'goal' ruled out by VAR. Made many defensive clearances and tackles. One of his best games in a Spurs shirt. 9

Emerson Royal

Wasted one good early crossing opportunity and fired over the bar with a drive from outside of the City box midway through the first half. He defended well though and with discipline before coming off with a knock late on. 7

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Wound City and their fans up constantly with his work in the middle and drawing fouls, plus making one tactical one himself. Gave the ball away a few times but he worked so hard. 8

Rodrigo Bentancur

Showed some superb touches and launched into some big tackles. Like Hojbjerg he played a few sloppy passes but it was another big performance in the centre. 8

Ryan Sessegnon

Worked hard with discipline down the left and played his part in racing on to the loose ball in the build-up to Spurs' second goal. Taken off at the end but this was a good night for him. His defending was very good at times. 7

Dejan Kulusevski

A first goal on his first start for the club as he slid home the ball from Son's unselfish pass. Worked very hard up and down the pitch and showed what a talent he can be. His cross for Kane's winner at the end was perfect. 9

Harry Kane

Fantastic first time ball into the path of Son in the build-up to the visitors' early goal. Got a few good balls away to his fellow attackers, including one to put Son away for an early second half chance. He then bust a gut to get into the box to volley home Son's cross superbly into the top right corner. Denied by Ederson with a big chance just moments later, then had a goal ruled out by VAR but his header late on was vintage Kane. What a performance. 10

Son Heung-min

Manchester City must hate playing against him. He made a perfectly timed run to beat the offside trap four minutes in and unselfishly played the ball to Kulusevski for an early assist. Cut inside early in the second half after a run towards the City box but his low shot was held by Ederson. He then picked out a beautiful cross for Kane to volley home. He then set up the striker for another big chance moments later. Came off for Lucas having run his socks off. 9

Subs
Lucas Moura

Replaced Son in the final 10 minutes and used his pace to keep City on guard. 6

Came on for Emerson who had a knock late on. N/A

Slotted into the backline and helped them keep the lead. N/A

Harry Kane MOTM.

Overall a team effort (Though some players stood out more than others) with a very well executed game plan, as show by City not actually creating a chance of note all match. 4 shots on target:

  • Over hit cross that Lloris parried.
  • Gundogan scoring from that parry.
  • Gundogan shot from distance.
  • The penalty.

That’s a sign of us being in control, particularly when you consider that all three of our goals were from training ground passing moves, and we had at least two other chances from similar approaches.

Game was played on our terms. Conte gets a 10.
