Our two highest priorities:
  1. An athletic left footed LB/LCB.
  2. A CM who can pass the ball and dictate play.
What we do not need:
  • Another talented LWF who will need time to adapt and, if we're lucky, might fulfill his potential in 3-4 years time (see Moore, Tel, Odobert).

These bastards have been in background for 24 years yet are acting like naive new owners.
This is the same sort of shit new owners of small clubs used to do all the time in the premier League like the venkys at Blackburn, the nutcase who bought cardiff etc. you don't fucking spout off about having cash to spend, all it does is fuck you up. Selling clubs will throw on an extra few mill if you go for their players, players will ask for higher wages so makes it more unlikely to sign anyone.
You've also raised fans expectations so if you don't spend a shit load then fans will be pissed off.
Honestly it's so fucking stupid, who the fuck is advising them to leak this sort of shit

Or the sun have just made it up or guessed?

We won’t be spending that kind of money this window. Not a chance in hell.

This isn't the first reporting of this though. Other papers have said we'll be spending big money so if a number of journos are saying it then likely they have been fed this info.

Ok, I didn’t know that. All I’d seen before was that there was money to spend. I’d question what players are available that we could piss up the wall on.

I’d be amazed if it isn’t anything different from our usual January just because of how the market it. A £20/30m signing and a couple of loans with obligation. Unless of course it is all going to be different under the ENIC redesign. But I’m sceptical.

Here’s the sun article. It does read like a briefing actually Sidford Sidford like you say.

TOTTENHAM have made a £150million transfer warchest available for the winter window.
But Thomas Frank and the N17 hierarchy need to be able to persuade targets to make the move.
And the potential departure of sporting director Fabio Paratici to Fiorentina just days before the January window opens will further complicate matters for the Danish manager.
Tottenham are understood to be desperate to land a left winger after their failed summer attempts to bring in Manchester City’s Savinho.
Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo is top of the wish-list but the Ghana ace is also wanted by Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United and is viewed as unlikely to be keen on a move to North London.
Were City to sign Semenyo, that would open the door for Tottenham to go back in for Savinho – although Spurs fans will point to the Brazilian’s poor goals return at the Etihad and wonder if that is much of an upgrade,
Savinho, 21, has scored just one Prem goal in his 42 appearances for City, including 25 league starts, with a total of five goals in 69 games in all competitions.
Frank has been forced to play effectively the entire campaign without his first choice centre-forward after Dominic Solanke’s ankle issue turned out to be far worse than anticipated.
The England striker is now back “on the grass” in training but Spurs have been linked for months with Porto’s Spain striker Samu Aghehowa, 21, likely to cost at least £50m.
Destiny Udogie’s continued injury problems also make the recruitment of a proper left-back a priority.
Udogie has already missed 11 games this season and will be out until at least next month with a hamstring problem after two previous knee injury absences this term.
With Ben Davies, 32, only just back in first team contention, Frank has been playing the right-footed Djed Spence on the left but Tottenham have looked even more lop-sided as a result.
They could sign a left-sided centre-back, which would allow Micky van der Ven to play on the left as he does for Holland.
Paratici controversially returned to a formal role at Spurs only in October after serving a 30-month ban for his role in the Juventus financial irregularities ban but has been offered a five-year contract by the Serie A basement outfit.

Spurs greenlight £150m January transfer spree as club target Savinho & 2 others

Wharton is a lovely user of the ball but athletically challenged and will be massively over priced. Likewise Rogers, who if he isn’t scoring crackers, is doing nothing great and would also cost huge money.

PL young player of the year who is a front runner for PL player of the year this year in costing lots shocker.

Yeah, doing nothing great .. except prior to being productive he was recognised as an exceptional talent because of how good he was on the ball. Just watching a game of his could tell you he’s one of the best ball carriers in the world. Stop being silly. He’s a joy to watch. Probably the best player of that type (pace and power in the middle) since Dembele.

Just also ignoring the 10 league assists last season to go with the worldies too I see. Lovely stuff.

Also love the dismissal. Just scoring game winning individually insane goals. Other than that, nothing! Mate, just one of those goals is worth a shit load. Let alone all of them.

Rogers would be our best player. But yeah let’s buy some Ligue 1 talent who you think has a better first touch instead. Because going for these kind of talents has worked REALLY well for us in the past.

How about Savinho. He sounds perfect? Expensive, young and flopped at a big club.

Joking aside Neves would be perfect for the CM.
