I tempered my language because I can't prove anything. Only what I saw on the pitch. Honestly, I think your take is uncharitable. The media desperately wanted him to go elsewhere and there were years of narrative building.Well, let's not go overboard. He went abroad because it was made clear to him we weren't going to sell him to City. Whom he downed tools to try and force a move to and then spent months pouting because the move was denied.
I love Kane and appreciate everything he did at Spurs. Great memories, even if he did go into hiding any time we sniffed silverware. But let's not turn revisionist on the history.
And his being here on lower wages was less about charity and more about him being daft enough to let his incompetent brother negotiate a contract with Daniel Levy.
Dude, we didn’t sell David Bentley because David Bentley decided he wasn’t going anywhere as was his prerogative given he had a fixed length contract that guaranteed him 60 grand or so a week.
Our midfield lacks experience so we always need to start one of Bentancur or Palhinha. Bentancur's ball progression and ability to receive the ball in tight spaces is far superior to Palhinha which gives him the edge. Hence why Bentancur is a regular starter. But Tel isn't getting game time either.
It makes you wonder if Muani is flattering in training or if Frank is otherwise coerced into playing him. But, that being said, it still doesn't justify why Bentancur keeps getting minutes despite his performances being 6's at best

Another 2 goals last night.
I know it’s the same league as that big carthorse at Woolwich came from, but 45 goals in 54 games at 21 year old isn’t to be sniffed at.
Personally, I’d rather have a ‘winger’ who can score 20 goals rather than create 10.Johnson is statistically one of the worst wingers in Europe when it comes to passing, dribbling, and general shot creation. Not great things to be bad at if you're a winger whose main job is to beat his man and create scoring chances.
Loans are a great way to see if a player is actually any good or not , the trouble is even when like Tel who showed he was not the droid we were looking for , we went and bought him anywayWe need to put an end to bringing in all these loan deals once and for all.
It's cheap, small time and lacks decisiveness and commitment.
It should be reserved for clubs lower down the food chain.... not utilised by one of the richest clubs on the planet.
It's embarrassing

Johnson isn’t a winger. What do they say about fish on a bike?
He's off to palace...I'd rather have two strikers and wingers who can cross the ball.
The two wingers; one striker system has ruined the game.
Under the current shit show players like Defoe and Keane would have been stuck on the wing and tracking back.
That's why I hate this system.
Brennan could have developed as a striker if the two up top was still a thing.
He knows how to score a goal and ironically that is why some supporters want rid of him.
It's fucking mad.
The downing tools statement is based on when he failed to report for preseason training. That's not speculative, its fact. He was fined for it by the club, proving it wasn't previously agreed he could have some extra days, but a tactic to try and force a move. The same one Modric tried, with the same results.I tempered my language because I can't prove anything. Only what I saw on the pitch. Honestly, I think your take is uncharitable. He wanted to win things, we didn't (ENIC/Levy, I mean).
FWIW, City are the only team I could have lived with him going. Top money, stolen medals, invalid achievements. But, ultimately he didn't go there.
I didn't see him down tools. Maybe his formed dipped, but not for long. Everything else is hearsay, or at the very least subject to confirmation bias. No point arguing about the latter, since we'll see what we want!
He gave us his youth and prime years. Please don't argue with that. Otherwise THAT is revisionism.

Fair point, I'd forgotten about the preseason thing. Small potatoes, but relevant. I think at that point, we all knew it was going to take a huge offer to allow him to go. City didn't pay it, Bayern did (£40m less, a year later). Amazing deal for us, really, if you ignore the part exchange crap we got. After he did return, he was poor in form and noticeably unconcerned about it for several months. It was clear he'd gotten the hump because he'd been denied the move.
And I agree - I could have lived with him going to City for the same reasons you state. Who cares if they win another trophy or not, its all fake glory anyway. In fact, I stated many times that summer we should sell him to them and even proposed we cash in on Son while his value was maxed as well.
Thankfully we didn't, because Son thrived without Kane for a while, and he deserved to win the EL trophy. And based on how we've frittered away money in the past several windows, we didn't need more to waste.
Errmm... Well, not really. From many of the posts, I gather that we had a ‘selling club’ chairman who couldn’t sell players; Schrodinger's Levy.
I'll be genuinely gutted if you ever stop posting on this board.35m is pretty fair
Just hope it won't eat too much into our transfer budget for bringing players in

Solanke can absolutely stay fit... for everybody else.
his biggest flaw is his lack of ability in playing build up football. you can get away with lacking physicality and aggression if you can actually play football.By the way, Johnson has fallen out of favour with Frank not because he lacks flair. It's because he lacks physicality.
Frank is going to double down on his version of Bordalasball where games are huge wrestling contests, and only bulky wingers like Kudus could survive in them. Odobert could also be out of the door soon for the same reason.
I'm reasonably confident that not only a potential replacement for Johnson, but also the other signings of ours this January will reflect this.
