Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Under no circumstances should we sell Sarr.

The guy was out best player by a mile pre season and start of the season. Scoring, assisting and looking immense.

The coach then randomly decided to drop him when he was playing well to hopefully play Xavi into form. You should never drop an in form player and he did that which probably pissed Sarr off.

Not sure what you're basing this on, but he started every game up until Villareal and then he had an injury (24 Sept)
He was then phased back in October, but was rested either side of the international break, he then started 4 games in a row for us and got injured for Senegal so missed the NLD

So if you mean "drop him when he was playing well" as in "didn't rotate him to protect his fitness" then that might be true, but there's no reason to invent a narrative

Como’s rising star Jacobo Ramón has become one of the most sought-after young defenders of the winter transfer window, attracting intense interest from several Premier League clubs.

Since December, Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool have been monitoring him closely, while Newcastle United, Brighton and Crystal Palace have also sent scouts to watch his performances firsthand, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside.

Ramón, who joined Como from Real Madrid last summer, has quickly stood out as a composed, technically gifted centre-back with exceptional reading of the game.

At just 21 years old, he has already become a starter and one of the most consistent performers for the Italian club, contributing to Como’s ambitious project in Italy.

Jacobo Ramón has impressed Chelsea & Liverpool

The defender has made 16 league appearances for the Serie A side this season.

The Spanish defender is under contract until 2030, a long-term deal that reflects how highly Como rate him.

However, crucial clauses included in his contract mean any transfer is far from straightforward.

Real Madrid inserted an €8 million buy-back option and a 50% sell-on clause when they allowed him to leave, ensuring they maintain significant influence over Ramón’s future.

Although his current market value is estimated at around €18 million, the real cost to Premier League clubs could be substantially higher.

Because Madrid either receive half of any sale or can reacquire the player themselves for €8 million before selling him on for profit, English clubs must construct

financial packages
that satisfy both Como and Madrid.

Eriksen started poorly, picked up, then his last 6-12 months were utterly horrific.
There were games in that period where we'd have been better playing with 10 men, he was that bad.
Good in the middle of his spell at Spurs, but he also had the benefit of one of the worlds best finishers tucking away goals others don't score, boosting Eriksens assist stats.

I’m old enough to remember, we didn’t get relegated because of Taylor .
Yep, a quality early 70s side had got old together, started to leave and weren't replaced properly (sounds familiar somehow) but Peter Taylor was decent and not the problem.

Could add Tony Galvin from non league Goole Town and Gary Mabbutt from division 3 Bristol Rovers where people now would have lost their shit.

Theres a really good book called Glory Glory gone that goes into how we became so shit and Neill gets a lot of it. Was pretty much hated by everyone except Steve Perryman strangely.
I did a stadium tour with Chivers a few years ago.
My dad had told me stories about Neil's time at Spurs that didn't quite add up chronologically, so with my dad there too, I asked Chivers some questions. He was more than happy to spill the beans.
'Surprising' the squad with night out - with a psychic to try to get them playing better.
The main one my dad had though was that he sold Jennings to Arse before going there himself and it was a conspiracy. Which Chivers cleared up as wrong.

I think with Sarr as well, his drop in form coincided with his best Friend getting murdered back home?

Anyway I'm with you 100% - we should be looking to build a team around the likes of Sarr, Bergvail, Xavi, Gray , Luka V , MM , LWB and the new young Irish Striker , I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing how this young bunch of talent develops over the next few years, with a few smart experienced additions we could have something really special!

I’ve slated the board recently, however this Gallagher deal getting done in 24 hours wouldn’t have happened under Levy. It would have dragged on for 10 days.

Still think there’s a huge problem on the board, but credit to them here.

Where’s the fun in getting it done quickly? We should be haggling them down for every last penny until January 31st.

:levyhands:

It's the 13th day of the window.
Maybe starting the talks and agreeing the price/contract was done quickly, but taking 12 days to even start was a problem.
