Robertson is Scotland's captain yeah? Obviously guaranteed to start at the WC, but I think he'll want some guarantees that he'll get plenty of game time, which I'm assuming he now has. Useful signing as let's be honest, another injury is just around the corner.
He's fucked then once we get knocked out of the champions league. 1 game a week and competing with Udogie and Spence for minutes! He better hope he go on a champions league run or he'll be lucky to get any game time

Not excited with Robertson at all. IMO, he's the kind of player who looks good only because he plays in a title-winning Liverpool squad.

And he's a whiny cunt. Although if he does come, he's our whiny cunt..

There's still a chance that Robertson says no to a move in January right? If he left that would leave them quite light a left back, as who else would they have beyond Kerkez?

Given his affiliation and standing at the club I reckon if Robertson knows that him leaving in Jan would leave Liverpool short in that position (even if the club had agreed a fee) then he will see out his contract and stay until the summer.

Maybe, maybe not. Anyway if he does come, I would be on the side of overall a positive signing for the here and now.

Remember when we signed a 30+ Ivan Perisic? Sometimes you need those players who add leadership and experience.

Also gives us 2 sets of fullbacks rather than relying on Spence to cover LB and Porro to play every game.

Yeah but I could see the logic of signing Perisic because he played for Conte and we needed a LWB anyway.

No-one actually said we needed another LB after we signed the Brazilian dude.

Have you actually watched Roberton this season?

It's like people are stuck in a time warp with this guy, he hasn't been good at all, a shadow of the player he was.

Yet Liverpool fans think they are much better when Robertson plays instead of Kerkez.

I haven't watched him loads this season, and I know he isn't as good as he used to be of course. But we are talking about one of the best LBs in PL history. I used to marvel at him at his peak, everything you wanted in a modern LB. Amazing engine, up and down like a mad man.

Reminds me a bit of a James Milner type player. I don't think this is a player who will fall off massively in his twilight years.

It's not an exciting signing in many ways, but LB market is a shallow pool nowadays. And he is better than Udogie, much better on the ball, with better end product, and more reliable.

He instantly becomes our best LB.

Udogie is vastly overrated by Spurs fans and he's made of glass.
I'll believe it when I see it. This is far from the Robertson of peak Klopp Liverpool we're getting. He's not washed but he's fading.

If we can get Udogie playing at the peak level he manages about 5-10 games per season I think he's a top LB. The big issue is consistency and fitness, so always good to have alternative options (and hopefully Robertson can teach him a thing or two).

The way I see it is, he is not Good enough for Liverpool, if as a Club we want to compete then we need players that are better then the rest of the Tope 6 , we don't want their cast offs, I agree we need experienced players but this stinks of Vinnai and when he used to do Deals with Chelsea for their cast offs like Willian and Sterling........
Well

Face reality, the only players we can sign are ones which the more attractive teams to players, of which there are 5 in England, and a few others across Europe don't want.

So we either buy second or third rate players, usually overpriced, very young not ready yet players hoping they will develop, or we have to take players that some of the other clubs Bayern, PSG, Real, Liverpool etc. no longer want.
It's just our place in the pecking order, we are quite a way below the top tier.

Personally see this as good business

Spence is dogshit on the left, it upsets the balance of the team so much, he should only ever play there in an emergency. He will revert to fighting for a RB spot with Porro. Udogie spends more time on the treatment table.

And Robertson instantly becomes the best LB in our squad.

Because Kerkez has been dog that's why :D

Roberton had a falling out with Slot the other day and wanted to leave, we've pounced on an opportunity.

Well it just means that we've signed another player who is not ready to even be part of our squad. I guessed that this would happen last week and it didn't go down too well.
Do we not have anyone in our academy who plays LB.
A proper club would go out and a quality ready made LB and promote and develop our academy LBs. But no we a young kid from s America who is not ready and go for a 32 yr old. Are we actually improving our long term health at LB by doing this?

Oh great, a disinterested jock with nothing left to achieve other than world cup fitness, managing his minutes for the summer whilst simultaneously paving the way for our most outstanding player to head in the other direction.

This post Levy ambition is such a breath of fresh air.

People celebrated this era starting.
