I make you right... nothing this board does surprises me anymore... they will not want to pay the compensation and no doubt Frank will do a Powerpoint on the difference the injured players will have on the upcoming season. We will probably finish 12th, the board will see that as progress on back to back finished of 17th and increase ticket prices.
Well he made those comments in the press conference prior to the Woolwich match, stating that Arteta got an amount of seasons before they reached the standard as one of the teams fighting at the top of the league for the title.

Now that we have the gooner CEO, who would have been one of the people accepting that Arteta needed time, coupled with Frank's comments, and wet blanket Lange seems to be Frank's buddy that he knows from them both being involved with the same team in Denmark in the past.

I hope they don't keep Frank on, and I think they ought not, but I have this feeling they might.

I'm not arguing that the wage correlation is not stronger, but why is the transfer spend correlation due to noise and the wages correlation is not? (In my actually educated opinion, I would guess they have relatively the same amount of "noise"). You could have just left out the noise part and been satisfied with stating that wages have the stronger correlation. Instead you throw in some made up bullshit to try to make your argument stronger. And you always do this type of shit which is why I give you so much shit. It's duplicitous.

You don't understand statistics at all. Stop copying shit from other sources and repeating it blindly. You should not talk about things you don't understand.

Maybe I don’t understand stats. I managed to write my MSc thesis analyzing statistical significance and p values. There’s definitely people that understand statistical analysis better than me.

I guess you’re one of them?

If your educated opinion is that the noise also applies to wages as well as net spend, then by all means go read the previous studies and publish your findings, mate.

For now, I’m not trying to be cleverer than the people like Swiss Ramble who have done the studies. I’m just referencing what they’ve found in a football chat forum

In what other walk of life would you remain credible having been exposed as being so poor at your job?

He’s gone in the Summer together with any personnel he brought with him!

:frankwtf:
I hope so but this is the same CEO that gave Arteta time, and wet blanked Lange is a an old acquaintance from a club they were both involved with in Denmark, then we had Frank himself quoting the Woolwich model with Areta in his press conference before that game.

I hope he's gone in the summer like you say...but if the Gooner and the wet blanket keep their jobs, and especially if Frank can get the team to move up the league two or three places, and having done well in the Champions League league phase.

I dunno,

tbf Frank has also never had the services of Kulu and Maddison, which is what, about £250k p/w combined?
Thats a fair point tbh

The club does appear to be spending a bit more though, I agree.

This window the main issue for me is the selling of BJ. It was incredibly stupid. Really incompetent management.

100% agree

To clarify where I’m at, Frank being our most backed manager was after Gallagher and not accounting for Johnson going unreplaced.

AND

I’m definitely not saying Frank has been adequately backed for a club with our ambitions.

We have 11 fit senior players atm

Mate, I’ve just explained to them that in terms of wage bill increase it’s Frank as well.

They aren’t going to change their minds, though,

As awkward as it is, Frank is currently underperforming vs his backing in a BIG way.

That might change but right now it is what it is
Forgot about the cut of wage bill under Ange and the growth of wage bill under Frank. But like you said, they are so entrenched, they only see what they want to see...

I think most could see the sense in selling Brennan for a decent fee. Right up until he wasn’t replaced. I know hindsight is wonderful and if we had known Kudus was going to get injured things might have been different but it seems there was plenty of time to do something and yet, nothing.

Baffling

I still believe that Frank's future is not decided. It will be expensive to sack him but we have done it before. The last time we had a temporary Manager it did not go well. I think the clincher is the fans reactions. I do not think they can stick with Frank if the booing and anti Frank's songs continue. He may have gone yesterday if the 2nd half of Sunday's match was as bad as the first.
His fate will be decided by results & performance in the remaining Home matches starting with Newcastle.

Well, we have money still. Didn't spend much in January so can use that instead.

Sacking him at this stage does not seem as though it would avail much. It would be different if we were in relegation danger but we are not, or if a new manager could save the CL campaign but everyone knows we are not good enough to go much father in that competition. And there is no one whom we need to snatch up before some other club does. There is nothing pressing a decision from the board.

All signs point to a summer decision on Frank in my opinion.

Massively exceeded expectations in the CL - no he hasn't... with that draw, I would have been slightly dissapointed not to finish top 8 and downright disgusted not to at least make the playoffs... he has exceeded expectations getting 4th but not massively.
I mean that’s absolute horseshit because in one of your posts you thought we wouldn’t even make the playoffs.

You keep picking isolated points in time. What about the other 11 games. Deep down you know the answer. Frank does probably as well as Ange if he had to keep picking 8 or 9 reserves in every match. You don't like it so you avoid the question by picking the one game towards the start of that run when he was able to field mostly first teamers. It's ok to admit this. It's not a dig at Frank. I'm just saying you need balance when making a point. This is a great example but we will soon find out what Frank is all about and I would love to be wrong about him. Honestly, I'd be ecstatic if we played goid football, won the games against lower half dross, compete and beat the teams in around us a few times and nick some points of Woolwich and Chavs. But here is what I think will transpire. We finish 10th or 11th and don't beat any of the top teams, we play no more than four domestic cup games, get beat in the CL last 16 qualifier for teams finishing 9th - 24th in the group stage. And in summary... that is not good enough and never will be for a club our size. So back to the original question. What do you think we will do?

One of the biggest earning football clubs on the planet does not have enough Adults left to fill a match day squad. When we consider this reality, blaming Frank for anything is utterly pointless.
