Erm, conditional data doesn’t prove a thing. With his back 5? Ok. How many managers have their entire back 5 constantly fit? What a ridiculous thing to specify.

With the actual players he had available, he finished 17th. And no matter how many times you say ‘European trophy’ to glam it up, it was the Europa league, and it was Bodo in a semi and 15th United in a final.

Ange was a total failure. Nobody went ‘early’ on him, he had an entire league season where we were in relegation form. We lost to our rivals every single time. We regularly got humiliated. He then carried on his genius at the next club he went to.

Ange’s PPG was hideous. He finished his first season awfully even when players came back, and set us on a huge losing run. That basically never ended.

The club had every right to sack him - they don’t have every right to sack Frank for having us sit fourth five minutes in to a season. There’s a huge difference.

Postecoglou overachieved with the talent of the squad at his disposal. This is what the facts say; what the history books will show, and, most importantly, what our Trophy Cabinet will hold forever.

You can demean or diminish that Trophy as much as you like but it's pointless. It serves only to make you feel better about something that brings you pain when it should bring you joy. You care more about shit fights on forums than trophies in cabinets. It's a shame for you but it's part of the wider pathology I warned you about last year and is now coming true as Frank struggles to deal with a meh squad and injuries in key areas.

The difference is - as always - that I will support Frank based on facts and data and context until it's no longer right to support him (again, based on those metrics). All the things that the usual motley collection of sacky sacks have chucked out at the first sign of trouble.

And yes the Club had every right to sack Postecoglou. A decision I agreed with. But I also acknowledge ghe overperformed with the squad available. Which is why I know the mountain Frank has to climb and how big a task he has ahead of him.

Its a curse always being right. I am a latter day Cassandra. But I'll struggle on. You see I took genuine joy from the wonderful night in Bilboa. It gets me through nights like last night. That's how its supposed to work. 😍

Footballer recovering from partial ACL tear, suffers full tear to the same ligament within the first couple of weeks back on the grass. Yeah there’s no connection is there?! 😂 It makes sense when you see how innocuous the movement was that caused the full tear.

Search ‘AngeBall injuries’ if you believe I’m making it up. It’s well documented the intensity of his football leads to injuries, and there were plenty of Celtic fans commentating on the same when we appointed him.

But you believe what you want, I really couldn’t care less.

Let's not act like Frank didn't have his fair share of injuries when he was at Brentford

I think it's probably time to leave the pointing fingers at our ex manager in the past, blaming him for our injuries is a bit silly.

Frank needs time but the one thing that really concerned me yesterday was how evident it was how Chelsea out worked us. Their was a huge difference between the two sides.

I was really disappointed at HT but I expected the effort levels to go up significantly in the second half. It got worse.

We looked completely off the pace physically and that is why it was comfortable for Chelsea.

Frank should of been demanding better. This was not about ability, its the application of the physical side which was so poor.

I still think the slow tempo, handbrake on approach, contradicts the faster more aggressive approach we as fans want too see at home

No doubt the slowing down approach works well away from home but Frank has to discern the difference.

He needs to be more adaptable.

If the players arent putting it in then it will only end one way. Players dont get sacked, managers do.

Over achieving, finishing 17th, losing 22 games, and winning a weak EL cup.

The league, never lies.

Wigan won the FA Cup, got relegated the same season.

Ange, was an awful manager, no ifs, no buts.

All that happened under Ange, was a regression so great that professional players couldn't string two passes together.

Erm .. but they don’t. History will show him as a Juande Ramos type - fluked a cup, horrid in the league and sacked .. and then flopped hard at the next job and never touched the top level again. Those are the facts.

Not really. I thought the Europa league was a ropey competition before we won it and I thought it when we won it. Reality is when you play Bodo Glimt in a semi final the competition probably isn’t all that high quality. I can separate the joy of a trophy, ANY trophy, from the reality of who we beat to get it.

I support Frank because he is currently doing a competent if underwhelming job. Our league status is very decent. The facts and data and context never absolved Ange of his hideously bad PPG, so I didn’t support him.

He didn’t overperform, we were the worst non promoted team in the premier league with a top 6 budget. Where is overperforming from other than ‘European trophy’. I guess Wigan over performed winning the FA cup despite relegation. The league will always be your barometer.

I like you mate but you’re blind on Ange. In English football he is perceived as incompetent.

No. I'm afraid the stats don't agree with you, my friend.

26.44 xG Vs 16.52 xGA - until Vicario got knackered against City. Those are data we can only dream about right now.

An injury crisis destroyed our league position but when we played our starting back 5 from March onwards we didn't lose a game and won a European Trophy

Now Frank faces similar injury issues and it's led to one of the worst nights of any in living history. The sooner you get over your Ange Derangement and accept our squad is mediocre even when fully fit then we can get behind the manager and demand he be given quality to work with 👍:frankarms:

Blah blah bullshit bullshit.

Did we or did we not finish 17th, losing 22 games.

Even without the injuries we were shit.

So you can shove that xG bs, back in the shit swamp from whence it came.

I'm really not. He's a deeply flawed manager and has some unpleasant personality traits but the raw numbers are incontrovertible. He massively overachieved with the squad he had available. It helps that his tactical flaws were balanced by his undoubted ability to get his players "to believe" - no matter how dark things got.

It's precisely because I'm not "blind on Ange" that I am clear eyed about the mountain Frank has to climb. Without Vic we would be mired in the bottom half. Frank is a MUCH better coach than that. And is also a proven "overachiever" with squads.

Ps: and, as you know, I'm being a bit naughty but after the Chav game I've got to do something to take my mind off it. Fuck I hate them so so much...

Did we or did we not have 4 of my Back 5 missing when our league position collapsed?

Did we or did we not win every game they played together when they returned from injury - eventually winning a European Trophy making it the most successful season in 40 years at Spurs?

Don't you like Trophies?

Why do you hate Frank so much by putting so much pressure on him. If Ange can get those numbers then Frank has to as well doesn't he? Why do you hate Frank? Why do you hate trophies? 😢

Watched the West Ham game earlier.
Nuno has been there about a month.
They looked very threatening today against a decent Newcastle side.
How can a manager we sacked make a side full of more shit than ours look a million times more threatening than us.
Honestly, it beggars belief...

Blah blah...

Ange made the injury situation worse, than it needed to be.

Both Porro and Udogie had nothing in the tank, he ran them both into the ground.

He completely miss managed the squad.

He had a fit Djed and Reg, that he could have rotated with.

And before you say it, no I don't give a single f*ck that Djed and Reg were not on the EL list.

Ange the Mug, was too stubborn, to stupid, to use Djed and Reg for the league, giving Porro and Udogie so much needed rest.

And of course, he didn't, Udogie eventually broke down, and Djed getting his chance.

Ange was his own worst enemy, he refused to all the tools he had at his disposal.

This making a bad situation worse.

So no, you're just embarrassingly wrong, blinded by stats, and attempting to rewrite history.

Rewrite history?

Did this not happen?

Why you hate trophies tho?
