Im not sure where Kulusevski fits in a Frank set up, maybe Xavis position? Same for Maddison, he wouldnt be progressing the ball from deep, he'd be starving in the #10 spot.

Solanke though, I think he would be a significant upgrade on Richarlison. The ball would stick a lot more in the final third than just bounce somewhere random...
Yes what you say about Solanke is correct if Frank is intending to continue with the 1980s Wimbledon like tactics of missing out the midfield and lobbing long balls forward for a physical CF to fight for.

I think just in general terms Solanke is a decent footballer, good enough touch, can hold it, play off to people...

Nothing mind blowing - but levels above Richarlison

Maddison and Kulusevski are both inconsistent, and Solanke is a hard worker but not a particularly skilful player and has one good season to his name.

I'm not suggesting having them in the team now wouldn't make a difference, but it's not like we're missing three world class players is it?
No they're not. I didnt want us to sign Solanke for those very reasons. But all 3 are first team players and would improve us.

Solanke seems to me to be what Romero would be like as a CF, actually Romero might even be a tad more skilful. So we may as well put Danso in the team and play Romero at CF.

I wish I was joking.

I don't think Frank has made the most of the resources he has and he is frustrating me no end. But I still think the players are getting away with far too much. I don't see any of them taking responsibility. All I see are technically limited cowards and no leaders. With a squad like that it's going to very difficult for any manager to get a tune out of them.

Whatever way you cut it, January is massive. It will be our biggest winter window since 2009. Things must change one way or another.

Agree. Been pretty obvious for a while that the majority of the senior pros need to be cleared out. Was last last season, even more so this. Summer was a disaster for the lack of squad churn.

Normally i think a new manager can improve players but i think most of this lot are beyond repair. Technically poor, rotten attitudes and got used to the excuses around losing. More concerned with forming huddles in the centre circle than the result. Usually think going after players is low hanging fruit and most of the shit should be aimed at board, DoF and manager and they all deserve it but taking a real dislike to several in this squad.

Good players can look very average/poor under bad management.

Just as average players can look very good under quality management.

Rarely is it all one or the other, but I think our players arent near as poor as some here like to make out.

Im not sure its clear to them right now what they are supposed to be doing, I dont know if the shape/tactics is being conveyed to them sufficiently.

Often the case with new managers, takes a while to bed in.

I think this will be playing a fair part of the percieved lack of quality in our players.

I'm rapidly arriving at the conclusion that Spurs should just sack Frank ASAP and get in an interim until the end of the season.

Ange lost 22 league games and was terrible.

Thomas Frank has never finished higher than 9th in the Premier League and should never have been given the job.

The man who gave these two the chance to manage THFC recruited both of these managers and this squad of players.

We need to remove all traces of Levy from the club.

Indeed, it's stinky

2 bald men fighting over a comb

  1. Give it to Romero / VDV (inside our own half)
  2. Give it to Kudus (inside the opponent's half)
Have been our motto. What would happen if those names got replaced with Danso / Davies and Johnson respectively? The thought alone is terrifying.

Mentions of a looming relegation battle in the context of last season where there were 3 utterly hopeless teams in the bottom were doom-mongering, but it's not as straightforward this year. Wolves are already down, but the rest of the league are fighting tooth and nail to avoid the remaining 2 spots; with some teams like West Ham and Forest in a clear upward trajectory not reflected by their current lowly standings.

Thoughts of We're too good to get relegated and There are far too many teams between us and the danger zone right now are soothing, and the board would most likely take action in case things really went in that direction, but the fact that this is even a matter of discussion is a damning indictment of Frank. For all the comparisons with Pochettino's early struggles, I don't remember thinking along these lines at any point back then.
West Ham have won 2 games under Nuno, I don’t think that counts as an upward trajectory and I think Burnley have lost 8 in a row - the bottom 2 places are decided and West Ham and Leeds are likely battling out that last spot. Absolutely zero chance we go down, even in this state we’re miles better than West Ham and Leeds and have already beaten both away from home this season
