When Redknapp was initially wanted by England and when Poch was flirting with RM I think the fanbase was fairly unified both times that we wanted the manager to stay. With Redknapp the months following the Nelsen and Saha window really undid a lot of his good graces with fans (as well as the court case making the club a circus) but I think when the links first surfaced we were a solid league outfit under him and it was hard to see who took the next step, baring in mind we had just come off the back of trying a sexy European manager in Ramos. All I can remember with Poch was desperation across the board that he would sign a new deal and put the rumours to bed.
I'm pretty excited about TF coming in, especially if he gets his choice of backroom staff who seem top notch. I'm hoping for a manager that's been waiting to start really managing a team towards excellence rather than making sure he survives, with some flair thrown in. With a more pragmatic style of play, we should see far less injuries, which gives wider choices for style of play given the opponent. I'm pretty sure he's looking forward to being able to really go for it, with what should be a more talented squad and being able to use, even more, his managerial intellect to adjust the squad and be the manager that wins games and is really hard to beat. we will see some great football at times, I'm sure about that, but we may see a little more solid tactics to see games out. While I loved the whole gung-ho nature of Angeball, I'm quite looking forward to seeing Frank spread his wings a little and show his whole repertoire of managing.

Be realistic here. He got promotion to the PL. In their whole history theyve only had 5 (?) seasons in the top div and the last one was 1947. They were in div 4 down a few years back, not too disimilar to AFCB's climb under Howe. Getting out of that Champo with the budget of a tiny club compared to the likes of Leeds, Boro, West Brom is a really fine ahcievment. Staying up quite comfortably ditto.
They really do not have a PL set up. Not really champo either.
Look at what Howe has done with a team with a PL set up and a decent budget.

Today, for the first time, I tried gently tipping the eggs into a non-stick pan of boiling water, with a splash of white vinegar. I was expecting a mess, but they came out lovely - on homemade sourdough toast, with a tiny dribble of marmite. They were delish!

To be fair, Mourinho's first 11 game of the 20/21 season had us top of the league. Conte's start in his 2nd season had us 3rd after 10 games on 2.3ppg
Even Ange had us at the top of the table on 10 games and 2.6ppg at 10 games.
