I woke up this morning livid about last night and I have to say, I am starting to get concerned about Frank.
10 games in, and we've put in quite a few stinking performances at home. Yesterday being the worst. It's a disgrace to play like that in a London derby at home to Chelsea. As others have said, it was the lack of fight, aggression and a plan which was so shocking. We looked devoid of ideas and utterly clueless.
Vitor Periera has just been sacked by Wolves, and they nearly fucking beat us at home if not for a last minute equaliser. They have lost all their other games bar one.
Bournemouth at home was diabolical. Villa wasn't great, not terrible but we still lost. Even the Burnley win wasn't comprehensive and they gave us some trouble.
It's one thing having injuries, which is why I am saying we need to give Frank time. But what is the excuse under a new manager to play like we did last night? and at home generally? I'm not seeing an identity.
We are better at set pieces and more organised but that's about it.
We are still gifting numerous chances to the opposition as we saw the last few games and we look utterly clueless going forward and in possession.
Frank will get more time, but he needs to start showing something soon.
It only took me about this amount of time under Ange to start questioning him and quickly worked out he was out of his depth and a complete clown.
I don't think Frank is a clown. I do wonder if he might be out of his depth at a club like ours, and I do wonder if he is the wrong fit for us as a club. I don't know, but the more I see, the more I don't like and am questioning his fit.
It's also not reassuring to see Brentford continue doing quite well under a novice manager without Frank and his coaching staff. Hopefully this isn't a Potter Brighton/Chelsea situation but I fear it might be.
We have some tough fixtures coming up but it really is imperative we win against Copenhagen and we really need to do it with some good football. A win will ease the pressure a bit, but it would be much easier to be optimistic if we see soem good football.
I have been willing to give Frank the benefit of the doubt with such bad injuries, but I look at yesterday and I think, would Kulu and Solanke have made a difference? No I don't think they would. Would Maddison have made a difference? He's not back for a season anyway but no, he was playing many times for us last season when we stunk the place out. Injured players always become world class when they are injured, and as soon as they come back, people realise they aren't that good and don't have the impact people thought they would.
We've picked up some points and sit 4th, but the league is tight, and if we continue as we are, we will drop like a stone.
It's really concerning with our home form, it's relegation standard over a full season of games. If our away form drops off we could be in trouble.
