It's all about January...if nothing meaningful is done then. TF hasn't a chance and we're looking at years of the same....he'll be sacked and another iffy manager will join....blah blah blah
We've no choice but to inves bravely and appropriately and also sell all the dead wood...
Not really, not much really gets done, and I think it's a little unfair to think we can do a full summer window in January.

I expect some, some business might be done, but the majority of what needs to be done, will be over the next 2-3 summer, given the state of the squad, and the amount of work to be done.

Twitter Is awash with people lining for Ange back!

How fucking quickly people forget the Ipswich, Leicester and 14 other home defeats last season
Because it's easier to farm likes and retweets and build your following with a manager like that who's memeable, gives memorable one-liners in pressers (as dumb as they are) and plays chaosball that brings tons of drama and contention and constant debate.

Posted this in the Tactical thread but it might as well go in here too. As usual, those of us pointing out that results were massively outscoring performances were called XG cunts blah blah. All I was trying to point out was that Frank hadn't improved us defensively like others were claiming, and what he has done is completely stuntify any football or attacking.

Yeah I posted that graph to point out to the Ange Derangers that the grass was, in fact, much greener this time last season.

There is a stubborn denial of reality amongst a not insignificant amount of people on here, who, despite the wealth of evidence, can't seem to understand that our squad is utter pants and if you take any of our back 5 out for any length of time we are completely fucked.

Frank missed Cuti and Udogie for a couple of weeks and our xGA spikes. And our xG flatlines. Without Maddison we are completely reliant on Romero for creativity.

Some clowns wanted Vicario dropped. He's the single reason why we aren't bottom half of the league and still have a chance to survive this stage of the Champions League.

The data never lies. We're in a tough spot. Frank needs Solanke back desperately.

Just getting rid of Johnson and Richarlison would help.
It would give everyone a huge lift.

An important point to consider is that in the latter half of last season the Premier League race had already been sacrificed in favor of cup competitions. This season, the players and coach should be playing at level to be competing to WIN the league. The results should be significantly better.

Kudus, Kolo, Simmons SHOULD have improved the team - but Spurs have hired a coach who prefers caution and only commits players to attack in set pieces. In open play, more often than not the only pass on in the final 3rd is a backwards pass.

Coaching Brentford to finish top half is an entirely different beast to coaching a team to WIN the league and Cup competitions.

I cannot fathom why Spurs hired him after having some success with an attacking coach. (5th, Semi Final, European Champions). Spurs should have built on this and hired another attacking coach and strengthened the squad to provide better capabilities to cover for injuries.

Frank has hit a big problem. The more the team loses, the more cautious his tactics become and the less risks are taken. Even at 1-0 down to Chelsea with 10 minutes to go, Spurs didn't commit any players during attacks, and our forwards were outnumbered 3 to 1.

I disagree. I think Frank is a very competent coach who is suffering an injury crisis much like Postecoglou did.

Just as I judged Postecoglou on the wider context I'll do the same for Frank.

I also suspect Frank has a harder job with the squad who, contrary to some of the Ange Derangers more stupid claims last year, clearly fucking loved the bloke - and might now think they're grander than they are.

Frank is as accomplished a manager as Ange was when we hired him. He deserves our support and if players won't give him that they should be punted.

At some point we just have to stick with a manager ffs. I'm so sick of this merry go round.

If you think this squad is ready for a title challenge (let alone winning the damn thing) you're mental.

You're equally mental if you think binning off half the EPL season on the sheer hope of winning the EL (even though we hadn't been playing well in it) ought to be acceptable for the board (i.e. Millions in EPL prize money and further peripheral commercial factors) or the fans (i.e. pride and ticket prices).

........This is just BS Ange-friendly propaganda as a means to pile on the new guy.

Completely agree. But Spurs hired the wrong coach.

Of course Frank deserves support and has the backing of fans. But to say he was as accomplished as Ange is madness. Frank has NEVER won a trophy. And came from a team with a 41% win percentage, who managed 10th and 17th in the league.

Ange at Celtic had a 73% win percentage and had won multiple trophies at Club and International Level.

I disagree. I think Frank is a very competent coach who is suffering an injury crisis much like Postecoglou did.

When VDV, Romero, Vicario, Udogie are out injured, and he is forced to play Emerson Royal and Ben Davies at CB - then we can call it an injury crisis.

When he has zero strikers available, then we can call it an injury crisis.

When his only fit midfielder is an 18 year old with 15 games of professional football to his name, then we can call it an injury crisis.

Well, if Ange and the squad didn't take that risk - Spurs wouldn't have a Trophy and wouldn't be playing in the Champions League. That's what winners do - they win. They don't 'settle' for 6th and call that progress.

How different would Spurs' summer window have been had we not been in Europe?

No Muani perhaps; otherwise not much different.

"They don't 'settle' for 6th and call that progress."

I'm not playing this stupid strawman game with you.

You're chatting bollocks.

It kind of sucks, but we need to give Frank more time until the squad gets healthy and a chance to play together for an extended period of time. Its true he has been given an absolutely terrible situation injury-wise in that he's come into a situation where his top ST and CAM haven't been available.

Yeah it's weird, the same players played so well against PSG and Man City. Now many are saying our players are all shit and the squad is rubbish. Not sure what's happened, why are they playing so poorly, is does seem that it's Franks tactics to set up and play this way.
Maybe its just a transition period, but then why did we look so good in them 2 games so early on, I fully get with such a hectic schedule we aren't getting much time on the training ground to work on Tactics etc but its like we are to scared to even try and play football, the 92nd minute when we had a free kick is a prime example, what the fuck was that all about, trying to be all smart , just hoof the ball in the box

Nuno is clearly a decent manager but he didn’t suit our club and I think the same will happen with Frank , he’s a premier league manager that is too pragmatic for our fan base , doesn’t mean he won’t achieve things elsewhere but we’ve seen with Nuno, conte and george Graham , these managers aren’t aligned with how our club wants to play football . Even if we equalised the fans would still have left the ground wondering what the hell we watched . Im hearing more and more season ticket holders around me saying they can’t be bothered to come to watch us anymore . I’m not asking for prime pep at Barca but it’s a 2 hour round trip to get excited about a long throw and a corner . I’d much rather Frank take the shackles off a little than change manager but as it stands the football we are being served up is not watchable.
