The worrying thing for me is that this club just seems to corrupt everyone that comes into contact with it.

You look at what Dyche is doing at Forest, and you'd look at Frank whilst he was at Brentford and think that surely he could come here and do the same? I was expecting us this season to be perhaps not all that exciting, but at least look well coached and competent.

Instead you watch us and you'd be pretty convinced that Frank is an utter halfwit, I'm pretty certain we'd have the same effect on Dyche if we took him on.

The club has been in a constant state of flux for what feels like an age.

We desperately need stability and for that reason I do understand those that want to give Frank time.

Problem is, we need to be seeing the right direction of travel for everyone to be on board with it.

If results are poor, but we can see the performances/shape/identity/intentions(?) are all positive and heading to a better team we can be on board with it.

Right now, thats just not the case, which is why Franks position is looking tenuous and the fanbase is having a wobble.

He did a good job initially of getting the defensive shape and pressing much improved, but the complete lack of identity on the ball, lack of plan in attack is looking terminal right now.

And I think you know the writings on the wall when, when we do play well everyone says "lets see how this goes in the next game/one more bad performance and he needs to go..." Theres no faith in the good stuff at this point, and often that position is irrecoverable.

I do believe we could get a new manager and have that exact same effect again.

I also believe we could get a new manager and have the opposite.

It really all hinges on the person.

Should someone come in, get buy in and some results quickly - theyll have the opportunity to cement positive momentum and ride it forward (much like Poch did)

Who that is? $1,000,000 question. Lets be honest, could be anyone. A complete unknown who just hit the right tone, or an established/respected manager...

Official Spurs socials are all very quiet today.....could it be a sign of what's to come.

I truly fucking hope so.

The Thomas Frank appointment was the last act of a desperate and greedy man.

If ENiC have anything about them they will be working on how to get Pochettino back here in time for Christmas.

Even if he is only part time until the World Cup it would be better than this.

Frank was Levy's man.

Cheap and nasty.

Frank is a dead man walking for backing Vicario and Porro with their pathetic kick back against the loyal THFC supporters.

It is us that need the fucking apology from the club for being presented with this shite selection of douch bags for longer than any group of supporters should be expected to tolerate.

Remove Levy's skid marks from this great club and get back to the business of being one of the top 4 clubs in English football.

The issue isn't simply being wary of sacking managers (although I admit I'm someone who is loathe to do so unless they lose the dressing room) - the bigger problem is the COST.

All the money need to pay off the Coaching team you've just sacked and pay for the new coaching team to come in is money that is desperately needed to pay for genuine elite WORLD CLASS talent. We could hire Klopp tomorrow but he ain't turning Palinha and Bentancur into a gegenpressing behemoth.

Look at our squad. It's... dire. Not one single elite talent to help bring the rest along with them. I don't even know where to begin fixing it...
I completely agree on our squad. Its boring, a bunch of alright players, maybe VDV a level above and Romero when he can be arsed. Other than that none would stand out at West Ham or Leeds.

I just dont see the alternative in terms of cost. I cant envisage that 12 months from now Frank would have put his stamp on the club and have us playing top 5 or 6, decent football. Given the huge squad flaws we have to hope we stumble on someone that can improve the sum of its parts. For what its worth i'm inclined to stick with him for now as a batch of good managers are going to be available over the next 6 months but increasing the turnover in the squad is as important as a managerial change.

The thing for me is that Franks talk of things taking time gets thrown in his face when its FOREST who just beat his team comprehensively.

They were in a worse state than we when Dyche took over, half as many games ago, and already they look more sorted than us
Plus they had a game away in Europe on Thursday night! Frank has zero excuses. He's failing miserably and being outclassed and outcoached by Sean Dyche

Losing 20 league games and finishing 17th one place out of the relegation places under the previous coach. Imagine what would have happened if they weren’t bursting a gut for him and had actually downed tools.
He was playing a rotated team in the league and exposing how weak our squad was. Meanwhile he went against the club hierarchy and went all out to win a trophy on his second season, and somehow pulled it off!

The fact that most our squad picked up injuries that year showed they were bursting a gut for him! Our tactics were naive, and Ange's open style was exposed. But the senior players never once turned on him!

Well, this is it, innit it?

The only common denominator is this club. WTF is going on that we don't see that always results in where we are now heading? Another manager. Another wasted season.

Well I'm certainly glad you've dropped the "poor me" act pretending that you were somehow victimised by the bad bad Postecoglou fans. That's a step in the right direction.

As for the rest of your strawman drivel, it might make you feel better to make up a complete fantasy of my position but there's is zero evidence that I wanted Postecoglou to stay - because I never said that. If I did then you should easily be able to find it using the search function - but I doubt you actually care about little things like evidence and facts.

What I did say is simply that changing the manager wasn't going to magically fix our issues and those pretending "any half decent manager will have us flying up the table" were most likely going to want the next manager out by January because they can't or won't confront the reality that our squad is midtable at best - and, if anything, getting worse.

So it has proven to be. I'm sorry if me being right annoys or offends you and I'm fully aware "I told you so" is a petty and small-minded attitude but hey... I'm human 🤷‍♂️
At least you've come out and admitted that winning internet arguments and dunking on people is more important to you than the success of the club you pretend to support. Makes it easier for me to ignore your opinions from here on out.

This is in no way an excuse for Frank but yesterday shouldn’t have been a surprise to anyone. He has a terrible record against Dyche. I think he’s only beaten his sides once.

Nonetheless Frank is abysmal and it really does look the players have given up on him already. That doesn’t absolve any of them either as collectively they have been woeful.

This squad is very poor but Frank should be doing better with them and the real worry for me is I cannot see any type of improvement. Defending is haphazard. Still lots of individual mistakes. No penetration up front and he looks like he still doesn’t know his best team.

Extremely concerning.

Leverkusen sacked Ten Hag after 2 league games: Almost immediately found his replacement in Kasper Hjulmand of Denmark.

Inter back in the day sacked Gasperini after 82 days and 5 games, and then Ranieri after 186 days and 35 games: They still have no problem finding managers.

Roma last season first sacked a club legend in De Rossi after 246 days and 30 games, and then Juric after 53 days and 12 games: Didn't discourage Gasperini from leaving Atalanta after a decade to take the job this summer.

Dortmund last season sacked Sahin after 205 days and 27 games: Niko Kovac took the job 2 weeks after.

Milan last season first sacked Fonseca after 182 days and 24 games, and then Conceicao after 182 days and 31 games: Allegri took the job this summer.

Our public image wouldn't suffer one bit even if we were to sack Frank tomorrow, don't worry. This simply shouldn't be a consideration in the decision.
Exactly.

The paypacket alone will tempt 99% of managers.

Beyond that, if anyone had misgivings about how managers are treated then the Lewis Family just need to blame it on Levy.

They can then tell any prospective gaffers we will also get rid of that gimp Lange and dodgy Don Fabio.

Present a plan - this is the football we want to see, you're our guy, here is a DOF who believes in it too, we'll give you X amount to spend, this is what we'll do in terms of recruitment, academy, etc. to facilitate it. Blah blah blah.

Should not be difficult.

Why do you have to ignore my opinions when you just make up any old shit and pretend I've said it? 🤷‍♂️

It wouldn't suffer as much as some people think, but the quick axe would make it harder to appoint the right person. We're obviously well below clubs like Liverpool and Madrid in terms of managerial destinations, but if Frank goes before the new year, we're not bringing in anyone currently in a job. Who's going to leave a stable club job in the middle of the season for a club that'll sack them if they don't immediately provide results?

Best case scenario would be Terzic or Xavi, but there'd be people bitching about Terzic on day one because he doesn't play muh champagne football. There'll probably be a lot of managerial movements after the WC this summer, but that means going an entire preseason and most of a transfer window without a manager.

I've been very pro-Frank (and anti-ENIC) but we've had 3 performances that are SO bad that they've actually left me so angry that I'm starting to wonder if Frank has got the clout for the job:

Chelsea
Woolwich
Forest

The xG issue is the greatest issue for us IMO. He doesn't seem to know how to help this team create chances.
