WTF are you on about, I'm not defending anything, our performances have been terrible, half our players look like they don't give a shit, and Frank doesn't seem to have any idea what he's doing or what his 'plan' is for how we play! Of course we are miles below our ceiling - what on earth in my post makes you think that I think otherwise? Where did I say that I'm comfortable with our position or our play, and that it's in keeping with 'my standards'? What an odd complete misunderstanding of what I was saying. :/
Isn't ignoring that guy pretty much the default setting on this forum?

Because the first part of your post was focusing on data that suggests we won't get relegated like it's some sort of blessing. However, if I have misunderstood the purpose of your post I apologise. I get riled with posters pointing to 17th like that was some sort or norm.
Aha I see - yes you've misunderstood me - we've next to no chance of actually getting relegated, but this is still a complete shit-show from all concerned, and anywhere near 17th again would be an absolute disgrace.

The results themselves wouldn't seem so bad right now if there were green shoots, games where we deserved to win but got unlucky, games where we tried things and patterns that didn't quite work out, but where you could at least see what we were trying to do. At the moment, there is nothing of the sort, I've no idea what the 'plan' or 'style' is for any game, we consistently look more lost in terms of what we are trying to do during matches than possibly any time in the last 10 years, which is scary. :(

Fuck the defence now. Frank has had 6 months and he still leaked goals worse than last season. He better get the lads to score goals soon, because it wouldn't be pretty to keep losing. We could be languishing at the bottom truly fighting for survival comes Christmas if we lose the next two or even just get one point.

Frank also has a captain. But the problem is that he doesn't influence and activate his teammates, but rather gets involved in private situations where he loses his head, and you fear he will be sent off. Honestly. Porro and Romero should be able to control and influence their team, but both seem to only think about themselves. Davis should be captain. Proud and hardworking, and can easily go in and play a left back with responsibility, running and passing

Frank has a captain in Romero by default. I would not call Romero a leader in the sense of how I see it, exactly for the reasons you have offered, and one or two more.

What Romero did at Newcastle was brilliant, but defend first and then add the gloss.

It could never have been Davies for captain, as he is barely in the squad let alone a regular starter, but he would have been a far better choice.

So in effect Frank has nobody in the dressing room, and it's also hard to say he has anyone, including the captain on the pitch.

Backroom staff are important to have, because they provide you with their loyalty and that particular brand of stability but they don't play the games.

Frank needs strikers and strikers we do not have.
Thing is you could have Kane up top or linekar who would have really struggled as we don’t get into dangerous situations creating good quality chances. Look at Bmouth last night Bmouth kept going at 4-4 and create 2 great chances to win the game. How many games this season have got into positions like that?

He has Richarlison, Solanke, Tel as strikers.... That is a pretty abysmal line up front don't you think?

We conceded 65 goals last season, so its not worse than last season for sure.

Why are we having a smallest dwarf competition here ffs

At this moment in time, it's accurate to say they're both not good enough...although Frank has some time to prove that statement wrong.

But currently its such a stupid debate

I think Frank has, sadly, gotta go. He's had more than long enough with a full-ish squad to show what he's made of...not much. He looks out of his depth because he is
He gives me Jesse Marsch vibes

It's worse so far compared with at this stage last season. Scored what, half the goals, replacing Son with Kudus and it's the same attack as last year.

The math doesn't math.

If you think it’s the same attack as last year it’s your “mathematical” knowledge that’s questionable.

Last season after MW16 in the premier league.

  • Brennan Johnson: 18 goals (11 in the Premier League, 7 in other competitions).
  • Dominic Solanke: 13 goals (in the Europa League).
  • James Maddison: 9 goals.
  • Dejan Kulusevski: 7 goals.
  • Heung-Min Son: 7 goals.
And assists.
  • Heung-Min Son: 9 assists
  • James Maddison: 7 assists
  • Pedro Porro: 6 assists
  • Dejan Kulusevski: 4 assists
  • Brennan Johnson: 3 assists
  • Timo Werner: 3 assists
  • Dominic Solanke: 3 assists

you see the problem here with your rather flawed evaluation of the situation??

Back to school laddie!!!
