I was thinking that too, although I think he's a bit of a dipstick (maybe that was just him fitting in with the locals!). His credentials speak for themselves though, then again so did José and Conte.
I’d say just get him in till end of season. He is not with a club although he said he is done with managing. Just 6 months then we go again in the summer with Poch, nagkesmanm, de zirbi etc.

We can’t know that any replacement, even Poch, will definitely be better.

But tbh I’m not expecting much more from Frank. He’s trying to put in the same system he had at Brentford but with players not well-suited to it and with a fanbase that want to see more.

I get that you see Frank as a smart guy who can adapt and change but he’s been here 6 months now and shown zero signs of that.

We do need to give a coach time but we also need to be sure it’s the right coach we’re giving time to. What happens if we rebuild the squad to Brentford ball and eventually learn that really it’s just a model built on maths and odds that will get you enough wins to finish mid table with any resources but not one that can dominate games and win trophies?
Sad he is a PE type coach based all on coaching manuals. There is no inspiration or motivation. He talks about phases and I bet the players switch off. He needs time ofc but he has had a full pre season and now over 30 games to get something instilled which should allow players to be able to come in seamlessly.

Dunno mate tbh

Frank wasn’t my choice but he’d earned his chance. Potter got a chance at Chelsea as well.Chelsea were 8th at Christmas in the Potter season and he survived until April.

Frank is struggling a lot more than Potter was tbh.
I think with potter he had a track record of playing good football even with limited players and budget. His time at chavs was a mish mash. Don’t think he was this low. Whereas Frank has real track record of playing free flowing attractive football.

Was never the right appointment. Lange should go as well, wanted to get a friend in so it would be an easier day to day relationship at the expense of the football club. you always hold out hope that something clicks or he adapts to the club. Was obvious in the chelsea game that it wasn’t going to work. Everyone’s just waiting now.
Lange the Villa reject all of a sudden gets top
Job at spurs and huge influence in selecting a manager. Who we thought would be a big upgrade on Ange but at best he is on par but I’d say worse.

Near half a season update on through balls for those interested, which has been a matter of discussion and bewilderment here. Let's start with the definition because simply posting numbers would be pointless if not disingenuous without knowing what they're referring to:

Not super clear admittedly, but still enough to allow us to create a mental image of some sort I reckon.

As a side note, assuming that Keith Andrews has largely kept intact what he inherited from Frank, it's interesting to see how low Brenford are also ranked there.

It would be a reach to call this a pattern with Frank and his teams based on this data alone, but there could be something there to take a deeper look at.
Based on your stats Brentford have over twice the number of through balls exclu today where they thrashed Bmouth. We got muller by them.

Lose tomorrow a.d Frank will get sacked. It can't continue like this, both on and off the pitch

Battling last week against Liverpool means nothing if we are turgid against Palace.

I think defeat tomorrow & at Brentford, (ironically) will signal the end.
Then it’s just about finding a quick replacement, with games coming thick & fast.
So he might just stay in charge, till that happens.

Brentford totally battering Bournemouth and are up to 8th place as we speak despite losing mutliple key players and replacing Frank with a completely unknown manager. Really shows that a lot of the good results from Brentford in recent years was down to how well run they are rather than Frank peforming miracles.

Still seems mad that we started well and Frank and the players seemed totally together. Then the chelsea game came and suddenly it looked like all was not well behind the scenes.

Absolutely

They will still end up between 9-14th ish. Thats where the model they follow gets them reliably.
Brighton is similar.

The mistake we fell into was the one Chelsea fell into with Potter, which is assuming that you can take the coach out of the model and assume he can change the model to fit more talented players to deliver a different style of football with different results.

Lose tomorrow and he's gotta be getting the sack.

8 losses out of 18 PL games, just 4 pts clear of 18th...whatever the circumstances, that's unacceptable.

But then again we have a Gooner CEO and ENIC let Ange lose 22 league games last season so <<insert Mick McCarthy 'It can' joke>>.

That is why Ange got his 2nd year despite ending the season on a terrible note. If Frank ends this season with us playing good football then we need to see what he can do the following season. Our fanbase expect too much when we don't even have the squad to do it. Remember Son was a huge part of our success in and out of the field and he is not here anymore.
Thing is Frank was bought into to improve upon what Ange had done ie winning something and get us higher up the league. All the while getting us playing football which had us defensively sound but also playing front foot football like under poch. If he fails in this then there are potentially a lot of managers available next summer. Are the club not gonna be interested in say Poch, glassner, nagglesmamm, de zirbi etc. Surely the club will think these guys are better than Frank if he doesn’t show any improvement over Ange.
