Season 9 Idk GIF by Curb Your Enthusiasm

The issue is, are there any coaches doing it? Are any of them looking at the mistakes players are making and thinking "we can work on that in training and raise their game?"

Ange blatantly never did anything close to it. Not at all.
It doesn't look like Frank is, either.
Are the idiots at football clubs that hire managers even aware of that being a thing?
Do the regulators of coaching badges even think it's a thing?
I'm just blown away at how poor some "elite" players look sometimes.

Honestly Ive no idea - but they certainly SHOULD be doing it!

You see it often with new managers.

Theyre trying to establish their structure/patterns etc - so players are taking that half a second to think of what they must do on the ball and consequently losing it/rushing it/looking off the standard.

After a time, after some coaching, these things become natural and suddenly the team looks like its gone up a gear.

Its been a preseason and half a season with Frank, for me we should be seeing that extra gear (or more) by now - and yet they dont even look coached to me which is a worrying sign

Exactly!

We didn't see it until well into season 2 of Poch.
If you were to ask me if I want to wait until midway through 26/27, I would say I don't know, tbh.
My fear always has been a spiraling out of control. We left Ange in place and lost 22 games. We won a crap cup because we did the opposite to his philosophy and played the exact football everyone is moaning about right now.

The thing is, even if this goes well, by that I mean we are top 7 side, we’ll still be bored watching Spurs. That’s my fear. Frank doesn’t play attacking football.

Im not sure thats true.

We definitely peaked around that point - but there was clear progress towards that through season 1.

He started with the senior players, hit a brick wall, moved the younger players and immediately looked a lot better. Built on that through that season, and after a summer hit a new level season 2...

Point being, in relation to Frank - Im not expecting us to be the finished article right now - but I am expecting us to be progressing toward that. I cant say I see it at all :dawsonmean:

Hence Id much rather pull the plug now and make a change.

No guarantees itll succeed, of course.

I am sorry but for all the limitations of our squad this is unacceptable. Does anyone really think much changes with Kulusevski or Solanke back. Maybe we steal a 1-0 instead but the style of football is baked in.

Let’s say we spend big on Diomande to fix the left wing and a CM. We get marginal result improvement but the football will probably remain shocking. I am not for making a rushed sacking but I don’t see where this project is heading. Even if a bunch of elite Man City players came it would be turgid still.

There are loads of videos and a documentary showing Frank and his team forensically go over the game after the fact

I just don't think we have players who are making mistakes (Vic, Romero, for example) who are capable of change/learning. They've been doing it over multiple season and managers

He keeps talking about positive signs, layers and things - Id love to know what it is he is actually seeing.

I wonder what he thinks when he goes over last nights game forensically

I can’t agree with that.

They don’t need someone cheering them on to make a simple 5 yard pass.

It should be ingrained in them and muscle memory by the time they’re a professional.
Disagree if you like but then it's either they are no longer at levels to be professional footballers or there are massive issues with Frank where he can't get players to do the most basic of things through they either don't have the confidence to do it or don't know what's been asked of them so they are second guessing themselves. Now we both know it's not the first so it has to be on management.

Oh come on! We all know neither are good enough and now the manager has identified that you’re calling him out for it?!

I had to check Tel had actually come on last night he was that anonymous!

Well you're not gonna get involved in the game even if it was ousmane dembele out wide if you never receive the ball because the football is so negative and poor and unambitious and cowardly with just 12 minutes to go.

I don't think it's very well hidden that he's as pissed off with them as the rest of us.

He's probably wondering how he can make Kolo Muani look anything close to resembling the €90m PSG agreed to pay for him, and probably looking at the bench wondering exactly who is going to come on and make a difference.

My sincere hope is that he'll go full Sherwood and play academy players to make a point and it'll suddenly click.

I think people do genuinely forget that this is almost exactly what Poch went through, with his new ideas falling flat on a lot of senior leaders in the squad who were phoning in performances. He needs to find his own Mason and Kane in the squad.
