Frank has to go today. He's broken. But more importantly... someone at board level who was/is accountable for his hire must also go. I think that is more important in some respect.

I have already held my hands up and admitted that I was in favour of his appointment.

Once of the few times in my 65 years I have ever been wrong about anything 🤔
A lot of us thought he was a good appointment so don’t beat yourself up about it.

I held on as long as I could, but yesterday completely finished me off.

He’s clearly demonstrated that some coaches cannot make that step up to a bigger club.

I can appreciate people changing their opinions. I thought Tanguay was going to be world class. Oh boy was I wrong, and I let me emotions get the better of me and continued to think he'd come good until very late on, so that's a swing and a miss in my end haha

What I don't get is people that get in like any criticism of a manager is a cardinal sin and means you should support another club. To me that says people think the manager is bigger than the club. The shouldn't be idolosed as God's. We should be objective of managers. I want Hoeneß to replace Frank, will I get upset and call people cunts for not wanting him? No. Will I cling to my beliefs of he's absolutely shite? No.

Calm down. It's a football club not Vichy France under the Nazis ffs :roflmao:
No one's saying it is... but it still matters.

It still manages to ruin people's weekends/weeks... Just because it's NOT the future of a nation that's at stake, it's still 144 years of established History that has a proud, loyal sentimental value and importance to MANY generations of familes!

Don't knock it til you've tried it!

I’ve looked back at your posts and your said Frank was a good appointment so why are you now pretending otherwise?

Trying to be optimistic isn't the same as being behind an appointment. I said that he never stood out for me much at Brentford and wouldn't have been on my list, or anywhere near the top. It wasn't an endorsement on Frank per se, it was more, anyone but Ange.

My view in the summer was I was delighted with sacking Ange and just getting anybody else in who I thought was vaguely competent. And yes I thought Frank would be competent, I was wrong. I thought he would be a sold appointment who could coach the team and get the best out of the players. I thought he would do much better than he had, I think that is a universal view, but I also said his style of play never stood out at Brentford.

It says it all when no fanbase of any other big club ever clamoured for him over the past few years.

The thing is, the club and people like Lange should know far more about this than us, and they decided his style of football would suit the club, that's quite clearly completely wrong, they fucked up massively.

He isnt capable of turning this awful football team around.
Who is?
We need a bark bollock and bite manager, cos we aint getting out the shit otherwise.
Arry where are ya
We certainly need someone of firm character.

Doesn’t mean they can’t put an arm around the shoulder of players that need that, but they also need to be firm when it comes to the pruning and weeding out of unsuitable players!

We need a coach of the right mentality.

:pochsmirk:

90% of this forum are on the same boat. Lots of people here gave me dogs abuse for saying it early, because it was fucking obvious, and now they're biggest Frank out guys here.

Football fans are fickle.

I think it's fine to be wrong about something. He's just the 2nd manager in a row that I've wanted here because they did something that I thought would really suit us - like rebuilding a talented squad without having to spent £50m per player, having an appetite for giving game time to club trained players, being tactically astute, and not being afraid to drop underperforming players.

Also 2nd in a row that looks to be nothing like that.

It's baffling, because this is a manager whose front 3 scored 50 goals between them last season, but playing none of the football that would produce that. It's not even like Brentford had Modric and Iniesta behind them, supplying

Exactly. I changed my view very early on Frank, it's all on here. I was questioning him very early on. I don't see the problem. I am always objective as I can be. I called Ange out very early on I thought he was totally out of his depth and his tenure was only going one way.

What I think is the real problem is people who ignore all evidence before their eyes and just operate on blind faith. I am happy to admit if I am wrong. Changing opinions on managers and players is par for the course in football. I judged Frank like any other manager, game by game , and then I eventually hit a point where I say "this guy isn't it".

First real warning signgs were the Bourenmouth home performance but where he lost me was the Woolwich and Chelsea games, and I clearly called it then that Frank was not the guy, his tenure was now finished and there was no way back for him.....it was so obvious that those types of performances where the sign of a dead man walking manager. There was nothing there, and it's not improved at all since.

I hope we make Romero Player/Manager with Porro as his Captain just to fuck with spursfan76 spursfan76

Might as well find some humour in the whole diabolical situation :D

Hopefully. You never know with these clowns - they're clearly been looking for any excuse to keep him so maybe they're very unprepared now that things have actually much worse than anyone anticipated. Wouldn't be surprised if Frank gets another game or two due to the sheer inertia and ineptitude of the board.

And if they'd made their mind up they could at least sack him and give Heitinga the Dortmund and Burnley games as an audition for the interim role while they survey alternate options.

I worry that the fact he's not been sacked yet means they're undecided and they'll keep Frank for Dortmund by default. Then if he wins they'll all cross their fingers and toes and give him the Burnley game...basically just kicking the can down the road even though we all know Frank's a dead man walking.

That's exactly it mate, I'd say you're bang on.

We all know it's your last sentence in your second paragraph.
