6 clean sheets in 8 games and +10 GD. I don't know what you're watching if you don't see a difference in our performances
Villareal and Monaco were snoozefests. 1 own goal in those 2 games.
Bodo was a shambles for an hour. 2 down and deservedly.
PSG was decent but the scoreline was unflattering. They were the only decent team we played.
The rules/refereeing in the CL helps us a lot, lot more than in the PL.

The thing is look at Brentford, they are flying in the league, hopefully if we stick with Frank in a few years we can be trying to 6th - 10th!!!!! :vinai:
Brentford are "only" 7 points ahead of us and failed to score in 2 matches vs us.
They've lost more games than us.
They don't have midweek games.
They haven't had injuries to work around.
They have the leagues 2nd highest scorer.

I don't watch them, but I doubt they're doing anything more interesting than 80% of the rest of the teams.

They need Carrick then?

The Brentford fan on the pod a while back was saying that while the points total has been great for them and Andrews is seen as doing a good job the football has been dire especially away from home.
Again this is ok at Brentford, not at a club with higher aspirations than finishing 10th and being solid.

This was the worry with Frank for most of us I think, would he be able to change his football to front foot attacking and more attractive play - he hasn't done that and we are 24 league games in. Even with an upturn in results I can't see his position being tenable past summer tbh, surely when 75% of the fanbase don't want the manager the board have to act.

3rd highest paid manager in the league, all that staff. Yeah no wonder they're sticking. Probably be here next season too if he finishes 12th or higher

Has the injuries to shield him now but he was awful with a near full strength squad for a quarter of the season. Not so much results, just the complete lack of identity

I seem to remember Conte being reported as complaining because he wasn't allowed to bring enough people

Also reported we spoke to De Zerbi (I think the summer we got Ange) but he walked away for the same reason

Im all for managers being properly supported, invested in, given the best chance to succeed

So Im happy we are doing it

But with Frank it just seems the wrong one to choose to begin

Teams running circles around us without breaking a sweat has been my arguably biggest disappointment with him. He was supposed to oversee some significant improvement in our team shape&structure out of possession; and early signs from the Super Cup game and City game in matchday 2 in particular were encouraging.

Not sure what has gone wrong since then; but it has been underwhelming to say the least.

All part of the same, and a significantly longer, sequence that was interrupted by a City player rolling on the ground with an injury; not us making a defensive play.

Isn't this just City being City? Not quite.

Happened several times this season already: Against Woolwich, Villa and even Sunderland on occasions to name three off the top of my head.

Its our policy of non engagement, can only be training imo

We are actually very good at getting players back / into decent positions - but once there its like the idea is just standing there is enough

I think he has put the fear in them, if they step out to win the ball, fail - theres a risk in behind them kind of thing

But think about it, how many goals have we let in this season with 6 or 7 between the ball and goal?

And as you can see in those clips - midfield has the same policy - take up good positions but dont actually DO anything...

i've thought we look like a practice squad for awhile now. slightly more active than training cones. it seems we start off very conservative and then get on the front foot more in second halves. i'd say it's frank's small club mentality
