Seen this posted loads, almost as matter of fact at times, but I dont know how true it is

Arteta was doing a much better job than Frank is, and was playing in empty stadiums when things were bad

I mean, it was easier to show patience both because things weren that bad and the fans werent (able to) publically voice their displeasure.

Ive seen nothing tangible in Franks tenure to suggest progress is being made, the eye test doesnt support things going well, and the fans have booed and told Frank he'll be getting sacked multiple times

I just dont think its comparible, so it cant be that Vinai is thinking "well it worked with Arteta, so Ill do it again now!"

But then I think, well, Vinai is a fucking idiot, so I do have that slight nagging doubt against the above view
Well the longer things go on the more it seems like the club is copying the Arteta example, and with the CEO being who he is, and Frank explaining Arteta's situation in the press conference prior to that match this season. Then there's Lange talking about the plans have been drawn up for the summer transfer window, one would surely think Frank was involved with that. I doubt Lange would have disclosed that if Frank wasn't involved.

So reading between the lines...

I am not anti Spurs and did not hate him when he was our Manager but do not want him back, we deserve better. I responded to a pro Poch post and so the question should be why do the pro Poch lovers have to infest every thread.
Not sure if I'm a 'Pro-Poch lover' considering I'm on the fence about having him come back.

I too think we would be better off hoping to find Poch 2.0, someone new that can improve the squad through coaching and play attractive, front door football.

However, I also remember the last year or so when our football wasn't great under him plus I dunno if he'll be able to match what some fans think he'll bring.

I can't deny the feel-good he'll bring though and it has to be incredibly tempting to the board considering they are now drawing fire more than they ever have.

Were this to happen - and Im not saying it wont in a behind closed doors sort of way - but were this to happen what do you suppose Poch could actually do before the WC?

Even if a deal is agreed, until he works with the players, takes time to review the squad etc - he cant really have any real input in anything

And at that point he's going to be 100% involved with team USA - pre tournament preparations, the inevitable 100s hours of press, the tournament itself...
I don't imagine too much work will kick in until the season ends. He can't work with the US squad and most admin stuff will be done by staff.

So leading from that, there's plenty of time for him to have a few meetings discussing player contracts, fitness, etc. He could look at how he's planning on playing and pointing out gaps in the squad he thinks are there.

Yes he'll ultimately need to see players up close but he's no different than the rest of us - we all have a list of players we'd happily see leave and another list of positions we want filled.

Again, most of the admin stuff will be done by others. He'll just need to provide the broad framework of a plan.

This is all moot anyway. We all know they'll stick with Frank.

It's weird right. What has worked with lego head? He hasn't won shit! FA Cup maybe. If any, Ange was a better candidate to show more time to, judging by winning something bigger.

Jesus man, Why do the pathetic, anti-N'Koudou, Janssen haters have to infest every thread with their muck... :cautious:

The conversation started much earlier than with you as posts 29764-6 yesterday evening to which I responded to. I totally agree we should be looking for Poch 2 and thought Frank could have been that as he also came from a smaller PL club. I think bringing him back will not work and cannot understand the fans wanting it. We would lose most of the summer transfer window as we would not have a Manager in place to persuade top quality players to come and trying to recreate the past does not work.

You still seem to be under the impression a club stops if there's no manager in place.

It doesn't.

I mean, ours seems to when there is a manager in place but in a normal club it wouldn't.

Poch’s work at Chelsea actually makes me much more pro his return

There have been many transfers in that the player has stated the Manager phoned them and explained how they fitted in and persuaded them to come. That will not happen until the Manager is in place and we could lose the better players to other teams.
