Well that's you opinion re back 3, might be right might be wrong, but then the article becomes redundant as far as we're concerned.
As for whether we could have bought a new LB, who was available, how much funds, etc. You can't be sure that was a realistic possibility.
Speaking of redundant, a conversation from last year:
Steve Perryman
"As for Rose Gibbs, he's vital in the greater scheme of things. He should have some healthy competition although that in turn could hamper Fryer's development."
Gibbs131
"How is Rose vital? We have had the best ever start to the prem without him for the most part."
Steve Perryman
"Do i really have to explain that to you? If so you're in dire need of a lobotomy. "
Gibbs131
"Please explain why Rose is essential. I am all ears. I suspect he is essential ONLY to your want for entertainment and not so much results because he isnt a very good defender and he's not the smartest player in the final third. He's made around 40 prem appearances and he is lucky to rub 2 assists or goals together. More flash that makes us soft Spurs. If you are addicted to cricket scores, then Rose is essential."
Steve Perryman
"If you were as clued up as you think you are you'd realise just how good an engine Rose has. I say if but you clearly aren't. This kid was club player of the year at Sunderland last season, yet you've just dismissed him off hand. If you took your head out of your arse for a moment & took a good look around you, you might just see what was staring you right in the face."
So if we are talking about who would have done what/when, Rose would never have been anywhere near my team in any shape or form. Neither would Naughton or Fryers to be honest. (takes of CM hat)
