Haha - obviously I'd never say that! I am the last one to write players off. That was tehTrunk misquoting me!

However, definitely think people are getting a bit ahead of themselves with him. He's doing great for the U18s now, but in the NextGen games he's been hit and miss (although that is as a 16 - now 17 - year old playing in an U19 tournament). He needs to stop taking a shot one very time he gets the ball - bit of Defoe syndrome.
 
Think those that can should pitch up for this, Liverpool always get a good turn out for Youth Cup games, and we can't have them outnumbering the home fans. Is it a two legged round?

Does anyone know much about David Button? I read somewhere he was quiet highly rated.

I think from now to the end of the season is important for the likes of Smith, Mason, Townsend, Bostock, Parrett, Falque to get their nuts down :nawty: and impress. They are all over 20 now and need games.

Goalkeepers
DAVID BUTTON (22) - LEAGUE ONE/CHAMPIONSHIP - Successful loan with Plymouth Argyle last year (30 league appearances) and was on loan at Leyton Orient from the 25th August 2011 to 7th January 2012, suffered a shoulder injury and couldn't get back into the team when he recovered. Recalled on the 1st January 2012 and sent out to Doncaster Rovers and a step up in division. Had his loan extended for another month on the 30th January 2012 after playing in 5 games the previous month.

JORDAN ARCHER (18) - CONFERENCE NORTH - Joined Bishop's Stortford on 1st October 2011 for a one month loan which got extended by another month and is now a season-long loan. Has played over 15 games.

MIRKO RANIERI (19) - LEGA PRO PRIMA DIVISIONE (Italian 3rd Division) - Joined Viareggio on the 8th August 2011 on a season-long loan. Played over 15 games before losing his place, after a very poor match against Carpi on the 15th January 2012 and the new signing of 36 year old goalkeeper Massimo Gazzoli a few days later.

BEN ALNWICK (25) - LEAGUE ONE – Joined Leyton Orient from the 10th September 2011 to 11th December 2011 (maximum 93 days for an emergency loan), made 6 league and 2 cup appearances. No loans since.

OSCAR JANSSON (21) - LEAGUE TWO – Joined Bradford City from 8th August 2011 to 7th September 2011, making 1 league appearance and 2 cup appearances. No loans since.


Defenders
STEVEN CAULKER (20) - PREMIER LEAGUE - After a successful 2 seasons with Yeovil (Player of the year) and Bristol City (Young player of the year), in League One and the Championship respectively, he joined Swansea on a season-long loan on the 1st July 2011. Played first 5 league games before getting injured and has been first choice since returning from injury on the 10th December 2011.

KYLE NAUGHTON (23) - PREMIER LEAGUE - After a successful season last year with Leicester in the Championship, where he was named as right back in the PFA Championship Team of the Year and won the Leicester City Young Player of the Year, he joined Norwich on the 21st July 2011 on a season-long loan. He has displaced Russell Martin as first-choice right back and has played over 15 games so far.

SEBASTIEN BASSONG (25) – PREMIER LEAGUE – Joined Wolves until the end of the season on the 31st January 2012 having mostly been on the subs bench for Spurs this season and seemingly 5th choice centre back.

VEDRAN CORLUKA (25) – BUNDESLIGA - Joined Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season on the 31st January 2012 having only played 7 games for Spurs this season.

ADAM SMITH (20) - LEAGUE ONE/CHAMPIONSHIP - After a successful season last year with Bournemouth in League One, where he played 42 games, he joined MK Dons on the 16th August 2011 on a season-long loan and played over 15 games. Recalled on the 31st January 2012 and sent out to Leeds for a step up in division.

NATHAN BYRNE (19) - LEAGUE ONE - Joined Bournemouth on the 28th July 2011 on a season-long loan, suffered an ankle injury on the 17th September 2011 after playing just over 10 games for the club and is expected to be back in action February 2012.

BONGANI KHUMALO (25) - CHAMPIONSHIP - Joined Reading on the 25th July 2011 on a season-long loan. Played the first 4 games but did not feature since a Carling Cup defeat against Charlton on the 23rd August 2011. Had a succession of injuries and fell out of favour with the Reading manager. On the 31st January 2012 Reading released him from his unsuccessful loan spell and he was on the Spurs bench for the next two matches.


Midfielders
STEVEN PIENAAR (29) – PREMIER LEAGUE – Joined Everton on the 31st of January 2012 until the end of the season, a year after signing from the same club having only made 18 appearances, mostly as a substitute, for Spurs.

ANDROS TOWNSEND (20) - CHAMPIONSHIP - Joined Leeds on the 1st January 2012 on a season-long loan after playing 7 cup games for Spurs this season. Won MOTM on his Leeds debut.

THOMAS CARROLL (19) - CHAMPIONSHIP - Made 14 appearances for League One Leyton Orient last season and has played 7 cup games for Spurs this season. Joined Derby on the 30th January 2012 for the rest of the season.

YAGO FALQUE (21) - CHAMPIONSHIP - Joined the club on the 25th August 2011 on loan from Juventus and made a couple of cup cameos. Was signed permanently on the 16th January 2012 and was immediately loaned out to Southampton for the rest of the season. Made his debut a day later against Leicester.

RYAN MASON (20) - CHAMPIONSHIP - Joined Doncaster Rovers on the 28th July 2011 on a season-long loan but was cut short after only 5 appearances. On the 29th December 2011 an agreement to join Millwall on loan until the end of the season, from the start of the January transfer window, was agreed however this was delayed by a few weeks and he finally joined the club on the 26th January 2011. Made his debut on the 31st January 2011 against Watford.

JOHN BOSTOCK (20) - LEAGUE ONE - Unsuccessful loan spell with Championship club Hull last season, where he was recalled half-way through the season. Joined Sheffield Wednesday on the 30th January 2012 for the rest of the season.

DEAN PARRETT (20) - LEAGUE ONE – A season-long loan with Plymouth was cut short last season, joined Charlton in March 2011 until the end of the season, playing 9 games. Joined Yeovil on 13th January 2012 for one month and had this extended on the 8th February 2012 until the end of the season after having played in 4 league games.

JERMAINE JENAS (28) – PREMIER LEAGUE – Joined Aston Villa on the 31st August 2011 on a season-long loan after managing 28 appearances, mostly as a substitute, for Spurs the season before. Made his debut for Aston Villa on the 5th November 2011, after a series of niggling injuries, as a second half sub against Norwich. His second appearance was on the 27th November 2011 against Swansea, again as a sub and on the 4th December 2011 he started his first game against Manchester United. Whilst playing he tripped and suffered a ruptured achilles injury which is set to keep him out of action for six months, meaning his loan with Villa came to a premature end.

DAVID BENTLEY (27) - CHAMPIONSHIP – Had an unsuccessful loan at Premier League Birmingham for the second half of last season, where he played 15 games. He joined West Ham on the 31st August 2011 on a season-long loan. He made his debut on the 10th September 2011 and after only 5 games was ruled out for six months following a knee operation in October 2011. This resulted in the termination of the loan deal.

CRISTIAN CEBALLOS (19) – Joined the club at the beginning of the season and was on the bench against Stoke in the Carling Cup back in September 2011. No loans yet.

RYAN FREDERICKS (19) - Played 3 Europa league games for the club this season. No loans yet.

MASSIMO LUONGO (19) - Australian U-20 international, played in the league cup defeat against Stoke in September 2011, missing the deciding penalty and was on the subs bench against Liverpool on the 8th February 2012. No loans yet.

JAKE NICHOLSON (19) - Was out on loan with MyPa in Finland for a couple of months until July 2011, made his debut in the Europa league game against Hearts and was on the bench against PAOK. Has not featured or been loaned out since.

ALEX PRITCHARD (18) - Was on the bench against PAOK in Greece. No loans yet.

JESSE WALLER-LASSEN (19) - No loans yet.

GIANCARLO GALLIFUOCO (18) - Former Australian U-16 international who signed on the 31st January 2012 from the Sutherland Sharks in Australia. Has said Spurs see him as a central defender or holding midfielder. No loans yet.


Strikers
HARRY KANE (18) - CHAMPIONSHIP - Played 6 Europa league games this season for Spurs getting his first senior goal against Shamrock Rovers. Joined Millwall on loan for the rest of the season when the January 2012 transfer window opened and scored a couple of goals in an FA cup game against Dagenham & Redbrige.

JONATHAN OBIKA (21) - LEAGUE ONE - Played for Crystal Palace, Peterborough, Swindon and Yeovil last season Has joined Yeovil again this season until January 2012 which was extended until the end of the season after having played 14 games and scoring 1 goal.

KUDUS OYENUGA (18) - LEAGUE ONE/SPL - Was out on loan with MyPa in Finland for a couple of months until July 2011. Had a one month loan spell with Bury in August 2011, playing 3 games. Loaned out on the 31st January 2012 to St Johnstone until the end of the season.

SIMON DAWKINS (24) – MLS - Joined the San Jose Earthquakes on the 15th of March 2011, on an MLS season-long loan, where he scored 6 goals in 26 appearances. Was on trial at FC Twente in mid-January 2012 but was not offered a contract. The San Jose manager was quoted as saying that it is still “up in the air” whether Dawkins will be re-joining the club for another loan spell.

CAMERON LANCASTER (19) - Joined Dagenham & Redbridge on loan for a month on the 22nd March 2011 and played 4 games, scoring no goals. Made his first-team league debut against Wigan after coming off the bench on the 31st of January 2012 and was on the subs bench against Liverpool the following match. No loans this season.
