Rules Video Assistant Referee

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That’s actually quite a nice thought.

Thank you Poppet x
You can buy the ammo from Sainsbury's, just round the corner from the stadium - £1.35 a packet, which is quite a bit more than Aldi (89p) and actually not quite as nice, but they're not for eating so it doesn't really matter.

To be fair, people could use the sweeties of their choice - something a bit less melty might be good.

You could dispense with the need for a launching device entirely if you bought a few boxes of Rakusens flatbread .

The individual crackers could be hand-launched frisbee-style in the direction of the
Matz officials .

It would put a cultural spin on things .

Some updates...

The 2023-24 Premier League season ended with Wolves triggering a vote to scrap the use of video assistant referees after a season of acrimony around the standard of refereeing and impact of technology on football.

Wolves lost the vote 19-1 but the Premier League promised to improve VAR.

As VAR enters its sixth season in the top flight, the Premier League says fans can expect quicker decisions, fewer interventions, more emphasis on backing the referee's judgement - plus "near-live" explanations of VAR calls on social media platform X.

BBC Sport outlines the key talking points and changes, following briefings with the Premier League and referees' chief Howard Webb this week.

Really is an interesting read...

So, this means that you get pings every single game, over a weekend that's 10 games x the number of VAR involvements at each game.

:ange-bored2:

Only really works if the alerts you get are only the ones that concern the game you are watching. I don't want to get a post for a game I'm not even watching.

I'll give it a go but expecting this to be annoying.

Offside decisions to be made by iphone tracking data in the Prem this year!

Mr Robot - Hack that shit

A 2024 Levy signing, Probably his best signing ever?

Agree.

They are boys club who want to decide every year how they want to interpret the laws instead of looking for cast iron ways to make them understandable and transparent for everyone.

Dermot has just gone on that show to control the narrative.

Probably a bit of “ Coin coin coin “ involved as well IMO .

But you may be right, he could be doing it pro bono in order to
“ control the narrative “ …

I reckon we might both be right FWIW …
